“Lovely B&B”
Reviewed 6 October 2008

The Belgravia is a lovely home with charming hosts. As we were only there for one night we booked a small room, but it was very comfortable and had a very nice, large bathroom. Our hosts helped with restaurant options and we had a wonderful dinner at the Wooden Hog, walking distance away. Breakfast was generous and delicious. It's very easy to find off 102 and less than an hour from the Halifax airport.

The Belgravia is an older home and seems more like an inn than a B&B. My wife and I had a small room with a large bathroom, clean, quiet and well equipped. Decor was Victorian in keeping with that of the rest of the B&B. Our double bed was quite comfortable, and we slept well. We spent only one night but could easily have stayed more.

Breakfast -- served in the dining room by our hosts -- was outstanding. It consisted of eggs Florentine, fresh fruit with yogurt, sweet rolls and (if memory serves), bacon. Coffee, tea, and juice were provided. We enjoyed the company of some other visitors from the States who were also thrilled with the B&B.

I would be remiss if I failed to mention how gracious our hosts were. D'Arcy and Anne are engaging and warm people who manage to run an outstanding B&B while raising four kids, all of whom we met, and none of whom was disruptive to our stay. My wife and I are child psychologists, and were impressed at how well D'Arcy and Anne are raising their children . . . and wondered how they could manage their B&B so capably in the process! We were truly charmed by Anne, who is beautiful in every sense of the word. I really don't think we could have found a better place to stay in or around Truro.

  • Liked — Elegant home & room; hospitality of hosts
  • Disliked — Room was somewhat small . . . a minor issue

I loved this B&B. The hosts were wonderful. I never felt that I was in "someone's" home. I was made to feel comfortable. It is very close to good dining, and the breakfast was great.

We made last minute arrangements for this location due to a change in travel plans and a shortage of hotel rooms (convention) and stayed there for one night. This was our first escperience with a B&B and we were absolutely thrilled especially as we did not have the usual opportunity to check out trip advisor.

The historic home is spotlessly clean,.The hosts Anne & D'Arcy (five years in operation) were very welcoming and the operations are nothing less than professional. There were three guestrooms. We had an ensuite bathroom (shower- no tub). The home is pleasantly furnished, with comfortable common areas that included a reading nook (and lots of books, games, dvd's) Access Wireless high speed internet was great for the business side of my stay. The bed was comfortable with good quality bedding.

There is a lovely treed yard, excellent parking.

Breakfast was delightful with good china, silver and excellent food and service...a high note to leave on. We highly recommend this B&B for either the tourist or the business traveller.

  • Liked — Professionalism and warmth of the hosts as well as cleanliness and wonderful breakfast.
  • Disliked — No complaints whatsoever - perhaps if I was staying longer I would have liked a bathtub.
