We researched restaurants offering lobster on the menu while on a cruise from New York to Canada. We discovered Lobster Pound and Moore in North Sydney, Nova Scotia and they held a reservation for us for several weeks. We took a public bus from Sydney to North Sydney, rather than a cab, and it worked perfectly--reliable, clean and comfortable transportation. The ambiance of the restaurant is casual yet far from a local "hole in the wall." Patrons arrive for lunch in jeans or business casual. The menu is extensive with everything from burgers to fresh seafood--portions are monumental. The service is friendly and professional. Ah, but the lobster--outstanding! Because we went in October and the local waters were too chilly, we dined on a Yarmouth lobster which was smaller, so the chef also served a large Snow Crab from the waters of Louisbourg, along with salad and frites--the servings are so large, we split the dinner and we were very full. The food is artfully presented and the chef's culinary skills exceptional.
