Teepee Meadows Guest Cottages
Reviewed 28 August 2012

Teepee Meadows in Valemount was absolutely breathtaking. The views were incredible of the rugged landscape that surrounds the tiny town. The property was off the main highway & was not subjected to any noise pollution; however, it is not far from town, we were able to walk there in about 30 min. Claude & his wife were extremely helpful in pointing us to the best spots to hike & soak in the views, Mt Robson's Kinney lake is a Must see: it takes about 3 hours round trip to hike, not to intense, waterfalls, lakes, old cedar forests, just fabulous. Unfortunately we did not get to spend much time with Claude & Alke because he had to take off for a minor surgery(good luck with that!), however, he did show us around the property & introduce us to his many pooches, kitties, ducks, his lama &, his pony. We gathered farm fresh eggs from the chicken coop to fry up for breakfast. There are plenty of spots to nestle into to relax & unwind. We stayed in the Moose cottage & it had everything & more: very warm, lots of fresh linens,a couch, table & chairs to eat at,a hot shower with shampoo & soap, a fully loaded kitchen that has a slow cooker, casserole dishes, all utensils & cooking gadgets, coffee & the fixings.......You won't be disappointed if you stay at teepee meadows, it is warm, welcoming, fully stocked, affordable, & run by some pretty amazing people.

We did not end up staying, I made a mistake with the reservation and their internet is at best intermittend in the area. So I would strongly advise on calling. But we were inside the available rooms. Very quaint and rustic. And there is a lot of animals around. Animal lovers will adore the place.
It is not far out of town and the surrounding area is very very beautiful.

Me and my boyfriend went on a roadtrip through Canada during august - september 2011 and one of the spots were we stayed at was Claude's Moose Cottage. When you arrive at the cottages your are welcomed by Claude, his wife and all the animals he has (wonderful cats, a loving husky, ducks, horses, you name it). You get a tour around the place and then he shows you the cottage you stay at. The Moose Cottage was perfect. It has a very clean kitchen with cutlery, pots and pans, etc. If you want eggs for breakfast you can just take then from his chickens. Then you have the living area with a couch, a small table and the bed. You'll find all sorts of games in his closets. The bathroom is pristine. A shower with warm water and a toilet. You never get cold there as there are heaters in the cottage. It was the best place I've ever been, it was even better than a hotel! You can park your car close to the cottage and when you return from a trip, the animals are there to greet you. I recommend this place to everyone.

I travelled to Teepee Meadows in Valemount to visit family who are dotted around the interior of BC. It was a great central location and staying at Teepee Meadows could not have been more perfect. Claude and Alke were great hosts and really made us all feel welcome. I know my 4 year old Niece loved it and I can still hear her echoing little words "It's a nice day for seeing lamas." Shame they had recently escaped to neighbours farms but Claude soon distracted her with an pony wagon ride! It's rustic and cozy and set in beautiful wilderness. Thank you!

We stay in one of the very fine cottages filled with moose art :-) Everything worked out perfectly here, and we spend some very good nights here. Funny to see how all the animals also enjoyed the place so much.

I was traveling as a musician and Valemount was a good stop between two cities I was gigging in. But after a one night stay, I can say with certainty that I will come back for a true retreat.

We had the option of a small, independent cabin on the grounds, or a gardenlevel-type suite attached to their house. We opted for the suite as it was more spacious and we still had privacy.

Cleanliness is the absolute most important aspect for me, and this place was spotless.

The suite was new and had a private entrance. There is a full kitchen with dishes, utensils, pots, etc. and a full bath, and a lovely view of the trees and mountains from the living area. There is no separate bedroom, but that suited us fine.

The grounds were amazing to walk through. We walked a llama, pet miniature horses, visited the chickens and quails, and played with the dogs and cats. The hosts were very kind, funny, and we got the sense they knew just the right amount of commradery and privacy one wanted.

I will be back to really soak in the beauty and tranquility of their hobby farm and accommodations.

A magical place. Teepee Meadows Cottages should be a destination not a stopover. My daughter, age 7, wants to live here. Collecting eggs will be a highlight of our trip that will be hard to match, let alone top. She is hoping to hatch one of the eggs. Alke and Claude were wonderful hosts, like visiting family.
