“Great campground, will return”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2012

We stayed here for the first time June 15-17 and had a great time. We stayed in one of the Tent camping sites and were surprised by how much privacy we had. There are some spots closer to the office that have less privacy but just ask when you reserve and they can probably help you. They have very good facilities and lots of water all around the campsite, grills and picnic tables at each site. Good access to the river for fishing, can't complain about anything but the weather!

Room Tip: there are some spots more family oriented and some that are more private for couples, smaller groups...

Thank you so much for the great picture of your fish. Many campers ask about the fishing and whether or not they'll catch anything. This is proof they can! We really appreciate your review and look forward to seeing you again. In the meantime, have a great summer, even if it keeps raining.

My family has stayed at this campground a few times, and each time has been consistently fabulous. The campground is well cared for and very clean. The name is aptly earned as the forest setting is nothing short of stunning.

From the ice cream cones to the rock painting, biking, and walks through forest trails, this is one of our family favourites which we plan to visit again and again.

This was our first stop on a 3 week RV camping holiday in British Columbia and Northern Washington. We booked it from the UK in order to ensure somewhere to stay on our first night. We were welcomed by the owners and had several friendly encounters with them during our stay. Our pitch was in a forest clearing and came with a picnic table and a fire pit. The washrooms were opened by an entry code and were clean and adequate. Hot showers were not free but were operated by Canadian dollars on a timer. We loved the campsite. There were waymarked trails in the woods down to the river and up to the salmon hatchery. The campsite was a little way off the beautiful Sea to Sky highway north of Squamish so there were plenty of other trails within driving distance. Overall, a great introduction to camping in Canada.
I hadn't read any reviews before we booked but the internet site tempted us. Reading the recent comments posted about rules by Tripadvisor members and the reply of the owners is interesting. I was only aware of 2 rules - no amplified music and no gathering of firewood from the forest floor. The first one was obvious to me because I have been in campsites before where fellow campers actually thought they were doing me a favour by sharing their musical choices with me! I am glad there is such a rule in this campsite because I much preferred listening to the woodpecker in the tree next to our van. As a city dweller from England, the reason for the second rule was not obvious to me but the owners explained that when people "clear up" fallen leaves and wood the forest floor soon becomes barren. My own opinion is that the owners have done a great job in creating a quiet campground in the forest and (in my case) educating their visitors about the way to treat the forest for sustainability.

Stayed here in June 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed it. A well-laid out campsite with plenty of space at each pitch. Friendly owners managed to book me in for an extra night at a day's notice too, so overall an excellent experience.

A beautiful campground with lots and lots of greenery - trees, bushes, shrubs, plants of all kinds and heights providing a pretty backdrop as well as some privacy. Sites were in an excellent condition, complete with picnic table and firepit. We had to do quite a bit of maneuvering to get the RV within reach of the sewer hookup, but eventually it worked. The little house in which reception is located doubles as an ice-cream shop, and there's a "take-a-book-leave-a-book" basket. You have to pay for hot showers, so make sure you've got some change.

One thing you should know: this campground comes with a *lot* of rules. Rules on the website, rules at reception, rules glued to your picnic table. We almost didn't pick it because the website sounded like the owners might be fussy. But we got a very warm, friendly welcome, and the overall atmosphere was cheerful and relaxed, not controlling as we'd suspected. We enjoyed our stay here a lot and made the most of the beautiful location.

Paradise Valley is a really cute Campground with very nice and helpful Owners. Sanitations are clean and well-kept. Its really suitable for families with kids. Its a friendly and peaceful place to relax. The sites are private and large with fireplace and fair price for fire wood. It was the best camp we have been while two weeks in B.C. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!!!

Pat and Lynn own and run Paradise Valley campground. What nice caring people and a clean and beautiful facility they keep. We traveled in an RV with our 8 yr old twins and we had a blast. There is biking, hiking, and beautiful scenery right at the campground. We were only 40 minutes away from Whistler and minutes away from downtown Squamish. The campground is clean and the other guests around us were very friendly and quiet. The camp sites were very spacious. We look forward to going back again!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
A 28 acre private nature park. We have a ”No Amplified Music” policy which means – no radios please. Of course, that does not mean that the campground runs in a meditative state, as acoustic guitar and singing is welcome. The entire property, including washrooms and pay showers, are immaculate. Paradise Valley Campground’s location is known as “front country” – this area is a natural habitat for many forms of wildlife. Typically, wild animals fear humans and are rarely seen or heard. If they are attracted by food and/or garbage left out around the campground, their fear diminishes and they become what is known as habituated; the fear is gone and they take what they want. Keeping our property clean has prevented wildlife from becoming habituated. To this end the campground provides several bear proof garbage and recycling containers. ... more   less
