Hotel is located right off the hwy and convenient. The air conditioner in all 3 rooms I had for my family was so loud, everyone had to turn theirs off. Other than that it was decent, the staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean.

We stayed in a room reserved for pet owners. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. My only complaint would be the A/C unit was pretty loud.

Breakfast was a pleasant surprise with make your own waffles fresh apples and bananas and good coffee and juice.

Hotel was good, staff excellent, exterior poor due to the mess left behind by smokers, not to encourage smoking but the motel might as well place large ashtrays everywhere to collect the dirty butts. Hot tub and pool good. Front desk people excellent

Offers an adequate place to stay the night however for the price being paid a little improvement would be great. AC is noisy, rooms have a slightly off-putting odour, little hairs in the shower and not enough supplies for the number of people staying in our room. Little things go a long way however this hotel is a decent place for a quick nights rest.

The Cleanliness of the hotel was ok but the air conditioning unit was so loud it was hard to sleep and it was too hot to sleep without it. The remote for the TV only worked when we would stand right in front of the TV. The beds were clean and comfortable which was good.

This was our first hotel stay vacation with our dog. He is a border collie so is not a small dog . I booked the reservation online about 3 months prior to our departure. and chose this hotel because it did accept pets. The online reservation system has a box that you can check off if you are bringing a pet. About a month prior to leaving I called the hotel again to confirm that we would be arriving with a dog and the staff member that I spoke to was very greatful that I had called prior to arriving even thought they did pull the reservation and the reservation indicated that we would be bringing him. She said that people often just show up without making reservations with their pets and then are disappointed that there is no room. They have specific rooms for this purpose and if those rooms are sold out there are no other rooms available. The pet friendly rooms have 2 queen beds. I assume that this is because a room with 2 beds will accommodate singles or families.
There is an additional charge per night if you bring a pet. There is also an agreement that must be signed wherein you need to agree that you will not allow the pets on the beds, that pets cannot be left alone in the room, that pets must not create noise that would be bothersome to others etc.
The room that we checked into was large, on the main floor, (this hotel has 2 stories and exterior corridors). It was close to the pool and hot tub although we did not use either.
There was no fridgee or microwave in our room although I believe there are in some of the non-pet friendly rooms. There is a coffee maker and iron in room. The housekeeping was a little hit and miss. They did do the room but sometimes you would get coffee and sometimes not. The staff was friendly though and if you did ask they would get you whatever we needed. We found that the air conditioner was not working properly and it was attended to promptly and the problem was resolved. The breakfast was good.
We went in the August and it was very hot. Travelling with a pet requires some planning because you cannot leave them in the room alone. We found that the temperature outside was cool in the mornings and evenings after the sun went down. Our dog was fine in the cool car early in the morning while we went in for breakfast. There is an awesome off leash dog beach (Canoe Beach) about a 10 minute drive from the hotel heading east on the Trans Canada highway. Canoe Beach also has a large family beach area with clean washrooms, picnic tables and grassy area in addition to the beach.
Other things to do near the hotel: A trip to Margaret Falls. It is a short drive around the lake and a cool short easy walk through the forest to a nice set of fall. It is pet friendly for dogs on leash. Right behind the hotel is water slide park. If you head west on the Trans Canada you will find a couple of very good fruit stands. The downtown area is very nice with lots of restaurants and boutiques.
All in all, the hotel is a bit dated, but I felt that it was good value for what we needed and I would not hesitate to stay here again.
