“Not impressed”
Reviewed 13 August 2012

We stayed here for 1 night at the beginning of August. At check-in they tried to overcharge by $15, fortunately I had printed of my reservation and what the website said. They asked if they could photo-copy my printouts for their records. The front desk is in the breakfast room, kind of tacky set-up.

The front door opens into a large room with a couch that folded out into a bed, with a microwave, TV, and fridge. The room was very big, strange configuration, quite a waste of space with no window. The bathroom was strangely situated there too. They had tried to install a fancy curved shower rod but it was too short for the space so they just added a short piece of 1’ x 4’ of wood and screwed the rod into it but it was loose and looked like it could fall down with little pressure added.

The other ‘room’ had two queen beds that were actually quite comfortable, and a TV and air-conditioning unit.

Breakfast was the bare minimum, but better than nothing. Was very glad we only had to stay one night.

If you have time, go up Mount Revelstoke, there are a number of viewing areas of the rivers and town that are lovely. Fortunately, at this time of year, the wild flowers are in bloom and lined the 27 km road. At the top there are a number of trails for hiking and you can walk to the very top where a forest ranger hut is still there (it was used for spotting forest fires). There is a gorgeous 360 degree view of the surrounding meadows and mountains.

Honestly we were not expecting much. We had just come from Banff where we paid too much for a pretty bad chalet. Now we were in Revelstoke staying in more or less the last place in town that had a room for a family of five. We stayed in a 2 queen suite, which had a kitchenette and separate bedroom. It was very clean, updated and comfortable. The free breakfast was decent, everything was fresh and they were able to keep everything well stocked when the rush came in. The staff was very friendly. Some of the other reviewers mentioned the railway tracks are close by, but to be honest the layout of Revelstoke is such that all of the local hotels are close to the tracks. We stayed two nights and would stop here again.

Also should mention, this days inn is around the corner from Nomads, which is an awesome local burger and ice cream joint.

Stayed for 1 night on way to Calgary. I got a phenomenal rate online even cheaper that the tourism bc site. Was directed to the hotel website and because I booked more than 7 days in advance got a great rate. Desk staff super friendly. I hadn't broken the news to my kids that the hotel didn't have a pool, but when we checked in we were given free passes to the local rec centre which turned into a great night! The Hotel is just off the main road so there is no road noise, just the odd train. Free continental bfast in the morning! Our family had a great stay here!

Stay there for one night on my way to Banff. The hotel web site claims that the room has wireless internet in the room, but it's not true. There is no wifi the whole we were there. The front desk told me that it's due to bad weather which is such a lie. There was internet at the lobby, but the wireless does not work in my room which is only two doors down from the lobby. Additionally, the air conditioner is so loud to the point that I end up not using it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone after this experience.

We recently booked two rooms at Days Inn in Revelstoke and while the hotel is clean the location beside the main CP Railway line made for a sleepless night for those staying in one of the rooms. The double room was on the north side of the building and numerous long freight trains passed by during the night making sleep difficult. The other room which we had with a king size bed was on the south side and sheltered somewhat from the rumble of the trains. I won't say "don't stay there" but if you do ask for a room that is not on the north side bordering the train tracks. There is a continental breakfast which is average.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on the north side which border the train tracks.

Good stopover location. Breakfast was included with the room rate. There is a hot tub for guest to use.
