The hotel was clean, had a good pool and the food was decent. The ghost town and attractions offered were great. The whole family had a great time and enjoyed the experience.

Room Tip: get an upstairs room for a better view

if you are looking for a standard Ramada experience, this place isn't for you. But if you are looking for a little bit of an outside-the-box experience, give this place a try. The rooms are antiquated (its an older chateau feel) but they are clean and the beds were comfortable. And the views are excellent looking out over the lake and valley. My kids spent 2 hrs in the swimming pool and hot tub (hot tub is too hot!, though) and then in teh morning we toured the ghost town. Anybody into antiques absolutely must see this place. The classic car collection, starting from 1900 through 1920 -- is amazing. The guy who established the place collected everything -- cars, fire engines, wedding dresses, tools, old churches, pianos, etc etc. All very old, historically important, and presumably expensive antiques. Led to lots of educational conversation with the kiddos. Kids liked it because it plays up the ghost town theme, but really this is a very elaborate collection of antiques on display. I read the bad reviews on the restaurant, but we ate there and the food was fine. The service was cheerful and conversational as well. Home made soup was good. All in all, glad we did it, and probablys appropriately priced all things considered.

The stay is about the whole 3 Valley experience. If you are just looking for a place to sleep then a motel in Revelstoke is a better idea. But this property offers so much more. The setting is magnificent, the grounds attractive, the associated heritage "ghost" town interesting. It is a quirky old place with lots of different levels so be prepared to go up and down stairs a bit while your here. And, as they warn you, no air conditioning in the summer though you are in the mountains and it is unlikely to stay hot all night. There is a beach (currently washed out by high water levels) and a Titanic-themed swimming pool (did I mention quirky?) Any staff we dealt with were pleasant. The rooms themselves are okay and the restaurant adequate. Diner type food and not much in the way of beer / wine choice but you will not go hungry. We had stayed for a couple of nights two summers ago and were satisfied with the whole experience enough that we stayed here again for a night on a Kootenay circle tour. Very likely we'll stay there again.

Room Tip: A 2nd or 3rd floor room facing the lake directly

We saw the reviews of the "gift shop"...sorry but over-priced & tacky jewellry, clothing that has nothing to do with this area of BC, and 3 bucks for a cheap toothbrush! Are you kidding?! This place gouges ...........And by the way...if you need a can of beer to wash down the dry sandwiches in the cafeteria it will cost you $5 bucks! And that is a can of 3 choices (Kokanee, Bud, & Coors Light)...repeat...5 bucks plus tax....not even anything local from Revelstoke...the "restaurant" offers young staff that is not interested and who can blame them with no atmosphere to work within and no quality food or beverages to serve (or no knowledge)...ie is there a local wine offered? they don't know.
Asked about the pub/lounge featured in their book & ads...nope, not open...
Before you assume we're a bunch of drinkers lookin for a place to party....be assured that we were a family gathering & hoping to have a family dinner during our stay complete with good food, wine, and a good time in keeping with our efforts to get there...it did not happen.
Pretty location for a day stop but no longer.

We have passed by this hotel every summer since I was a child and I have always wanted to stay here. Last summer while traveling with my two nephews (4 and 5 years old) we decided it would be fun to spend the night here. It was a great hotel, friendly staff, clean, and very peaceful. The boys loved the ghost town and sitting out by the lake, as a matter of fact we will be returning this summer as well as it is one of our favourite spots.

We stayed here recently. The pictures on the website looked so inviting and, indeed, as you approach this hotel which is situated by a lake, one expects this to be a very special place. I was expecting a quiet country inn with good food and a peaceful room. Not so. Firstly, their restaurant AND cafeteria closes at 8:00 p.m. which presents a problem given (1) many guests arrive in the evening because this place is quite a drive from most major centres (2) you have to drive a twisting 14 km very busy mountain road to get to a restaurant in Revelstoke which can be quite harrowing when it is dark and you are hungry and (3) there is no room service. The early closing food service is very surprising given how remote this resort is. The towels while clean were of a very cheap quality - they were thin and not at all plush - quite stingy for a "three star" hotel. The room was a tad dated but the bed was quite comfortable. More concerning was that the rooms have poor soundproofing: I was awakened at 3:00 a.m. by a noisy tour group yakking away outside my door: similar noise from other rooms continued right until 9:00 a.m. No attempt was made to locate us away from the busy part of the hotel upon check in. The restaurant for breakfast was OK - not bad, not great. All in all, a lovely looking place from the road but if I had to stay in the area again, I would choose a Coast or Sandman or even a Travelodge in Revelstoke - at least the towels would be thicker, the rooms less noisy and the food service more convenient.

Thank you for your comments – we are in a very picturesque location and most guests find 3 Valley Gap to be a very special place. Unfortunately our Restaurant and Cafeteria do close earlier in the off-season, especially on quiet nights. The Front Desk, however, is open 24 hours and we offer sandwiches, muffins, etc... after Restaurant hours.
We appreciate your comments regarding the towels in the hotel rooms. Because of your concerns we went to our linen supplier and have found a more plush towel that does not require any extra electricity for laundering and have begun to replace all towels on the property.

We apologize for the noise coming from the hallway at 3am. We enforce an 11pm quiet time and once notified of a problem we act on it immediately.

We are sorry you do not plan to stay with us again – but hope you change your mind.
