After driving by here for the past 10+ years, we finally decided to stop in and see what all the fuss was about. After looking into the history of the place, we decided it was time to stay, and glad we did. The history alone was worth it! The rooms were pretty decent, but the place is old which added to the charm. The place is filled with Antiques along with a Ghost town that the kids (2 & 5) loved. The pool is quite unique! the games room is very interesting! Our cell phones worked fine in most spots, but try to remember, your in between mountains and on holidays, so why would you need it unless for an emergency! Internet is only available in the lobby, but why would you need it? your on holidays! If you are looking for a unique experience and love to explore! A recent post said the rooms are dated and the furnishings are dated! I believe that is called antiques! also when attached to a Ghost town, it should give you a small clue. All staff were very friendly.
Do yourself a favour and do some checking on the history of the hotel. It wasn't built overnight;)

i think that what i am saying will be a repetitive review mostpart but still need to share my experience with everyone else that considers going to Three Valley Gap. First off the fact that there was no cell service was most aggravating as i could not contact my family and let them know that i was spending the night there. The rooms were very dated and out of time. I feel for the 166.00 that we spent that there would be alot more perks, like breakfast and the price of the ghost town to be included. We declined on seeing the ghost town as we felt that we had spent more then enough on the room. As well it was advertised to have satellite tv, well this consisted of 13 channels ...I really do not think that i will recommend Three Valley Gap to anyone, nor will i ever return unless a major overhall is done and maybe not even then .....

I think that these owners need to get their priority straight and realize that you need to invest if you want your guests to return ...re::: more perks for the price

Room Tip: don't go there .......

Resort is in desperate need of refurbishing. Rooms and furnishings are dated. Prices are higher than at many neighboring resorts, and breakfast is not included. When a place charges over 150.00 a room, you would at least expect internet capability; here you have to go to the lounge or the rec room to connect. The place is relying upon past reputation. Much is tacky. For the prices charged, one would expect so much more.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the garden and the lake. They at least have something pretty to look at.

Went to 3 valley gap in 2007 and this August (2013) . Love that this is a family owned attraction & although it isn't the most modern of places, it is run with smiles, from the man who welcomes you into the ghost town, to the waitress in the restaurant, everyone is cheerful & greets you like you are family. We enjoyed the ghost town... my teens loved the trains, and had a simple but tasty & filling meal at the restaurant. They even had gluten free options. In 2007 we had a spectacular helicopter ride & stayed in the antique room, which was beautifully decorated with gorgeous antiques. While the rooms were not air conditioned, a cool breeze from the open patio doors cooled the room off quickly.

Room Tip: Room 400 ( the antique room) has a gorgeous view & beautiful furnishings !

We were travelling from Kamloops to Emerald Lake. Three Valley was a perfect lunch time stop. Nothing special about the food - but the view was great - with gentle activity all the time.

The heritage collection was interesting too - again, nothing extraordinary, but pleasant.

And good photo opportunities too.

What a great place to break a journey from Lake Louise to Kelowna. The hotel enjoys a brilliant location and has real character. Although our room was dated, it was clean and tidy with a great view over the lake. All of the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The gardens are beautifully kept and the lakeside beach was an added bonus. After staying in some very upmarket hotels, the unpretentious dining room was a welcome relief. We ate well both at dinner and at breakfast. And the coin-operated laundry - a snip at 50c each for the washing machine and dryer, was a godsend to us, as visitors from the United Kingdon, at more or less the mid-point on a three week road trip. We were pleased that we took the time to visit the Ghost Town which was both entertaining and educational.

We had a great stay at 3 Valley Gap. we were there on the Aug long weekend and they were booked full but the staff handled it well. We were happy to find out they were having a open BBQ in the Ghost Town the night we arrived. It was perfect timing for us as the price charged for diner included the admission to the ghost town & museum. We had a great deal of fun walking through the Museum & Ghost town. The BBQ diner was very well put on the and food was good home cooking. They opened the Ghost town saloon for the guest to sit and eat. Over all a great night. The hotel itself is very charming and well maintained. The room we had was on the 3 floor center and gave us a beautiful lake view. We sat on the balcony and shared a glass a wine while watching the sun go down. The room was an old school standard 80's style but was very clean and had all the room we needed. This is a great stop for families to spend a day and night. The Collection of stuff in the museum & Ghost town is quite amazing you can spend hours looking through this place and never see it all.

Room Tip: Center of the U shape and higher floors for the view
