“Beautiful setting, fun kids area, room was less so.”

We were enticed by the setting of this property. We spent a night here, found it a bit of a time capsule. The room decor was circa 1972, but cleanish. The view from the room was great, overlooking the lake. No a/c or any air movement unless you open the sliding door. As our room was at ground level, we were unwilling to go the night with the sliding door open to get some cool air in the room. The building was built in stages, over time, so floors and hallways don't always go where you would expect. The cable tv selection was limited. Wifi limited to a few small areas, nowhere near our room.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
You are in an isolated spot, far from other restaurants and most attractions, so unless this is a stop through on your way somewhere else, this location is not ideal.
I guess the most lasting thing about this place was that it brought us back to childhood days, with the odd building design, almost no wifi, limited cable, warm room with no air movement, the odd decor and the ghost town recreated next door. Reminded us both of days of gone by. Not necessarily a bad thing.

Room Tip: Stay off the ground floor if it's a hot day. If you need fresh air, the only option was the slid...

We stayed here during our annual motorcycle trip from Las Vegas through the Pacific Northwest. What a GORGEOUS property with the outdoor garden and waterfront views! We highly recommend upgrading to loft room. I read the reviews regarding interior and agree it is a little dated but that's what adds to the charm.... not pretentious at all. Just very nice staff offering great service in a beautiful locale. The Ghost Town was GREAT... learning about the founder's passion for rail history made the tour a "must see." The restaurant was average at best.

Room Tip: Upgrade to loft with view

A bit dated , but it's all about the history, rooms were spacious , comfortable , shower was outstanding ,not your wussy eco shower but a real" get the dirt off " shower this is a large complex with an attached museum , very informative tour guide , and really a great experience for the whole family.

Room Tip: Great views , the higher up in the building the better , overlooks lake and garden.

The hotel is starting to show it's age and is difficult to get around due to the different levels, however, there is an elevator and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast area is a nice place to eat because of the view but the food was disappointing. We didn't take in any of the attractions as we were on a deadline. Overall a little disappointing but nothing bad to say.

This hotel is a bit quirky but stopped here with our 2 and 4 year old. The rooms are nothing special but the room we had a separate space for our bed to the kids beds and a balcony.

The hotel is huge and the grounds are huge. There is a big play area outside for the kids, a nice garden, helicopters, streams, waterfalls, a ghost town (We didn't go in), a pool, a brio train set in reception for the kids.

There is a big shop onsite (with brio trains set again!) and a restaurant where the food is fine, nothing special, but fine.

We used the hotel to break the journey up from Kelowna to Banff and given the scenary (which is amazing) facilities and the cost we were very happy with our stay.

This hotel takes your breath away! We were driving from Vancouver to Calgary and decided to stay here on the way, it is on the left hand side of the road as you come around a corner it will just appear, over looking a lake, have your camera ready!
The room was really big and the beds were very comfortable, there was a coffee maker and fridge. The view from the room is amazing, we were facing the garden and lake. The rooms are modern but the rest of the hotel has an old fashioned feel to it, which I loved.
There were option to hire paddle boats to go out on the lake but it was raining when we arrived so we didn't use them. There is also a helicopter tour that operates from the hotel.
The only downside is the lack of food options, we actually drove to Revelstoke in the morning for breakfast.

Room Tip: Ask for a room the is facing the lake, we were on the 3rd floor and the view was amazing.

I was excited to tour the ghost town and I wasn't disappointed, the tour was brief but to the point and we were free to wander the town. It was scary and very interesting, be warned, it is spooky and there's always something out of the corner out of your eye to see. The workers, his family, are very friendly and the place is fascinating.

The exterior of the hotel and the lake and gardens are beautiful, very impressive. However, the interior of the hotel lets it down badly. The beds were uncomfortable and drab, old furniture and bedding. Facilities are basic and the shower went hot and cold. The breakfast was poor. However the BBQ (as we were there as a group) was fantastic, I've never had such hot chicken. It's good they have a games room and pool but again the interior appeared to need updating. If the interior matched the exterior it would be exceptional.
