Stopped by the other afternoon for a drink, appy, and to take a load off the travelling shoes. Revelstoke is a nice town with lots to explore, so taking a break for a beer at one of the many establishments is warranted.
The doors were open on this nice day, however the stench of musty beer nearly made us puke. This place came recommended by a local. Trudged forward and found the inside kinda neat with large booths for groups to use. Got a 'hi' from the server at the bar, and she proceeded to continue her conversation (that we interuptted) with someone else.
Ok, we're settled now, coats off, comfy at our table, no server??? She disappeared into the kitchen and never came back!!! Sat at our table 5 full minutes to no avail. One of the other patrons even got up from their table and went behind the bar to get extra napkins!!!
Is this place self serve? If so, it is not noted anywhere. I guess our money isn't green enough :(
Advice for the management and staff
1) It's great to be social, but remember what you're there for - TO SERVE CUSTOMERS!
2) Clean up the place, it stinks
3) Remember that one bad experience goes a long way
4) You're in the HOSPITALITY business - be hospitable
We travel alot, dine out alot, and LOVE to use Tripadvisor, so we're not just a one off complainer. We cannot comment on the food or service as we had neither. We spent our time and money at many of the other places in town and had no other experiences like this. To sum it up, whoops, our mistake thinking that this pub was in business.
