We transferred to this campground after one miserable, noisy night at a private campground in Revelstoke. We didn't have a reservation but there are quite a few first-come, first-served sites here right on the lake. We had our pick of those but they all seemed quite spacious, with lots of trees to make them feel more private and also keep the site cool. We picked a site right by the playground since we have three kids. The playground was well-frequented by lots of kids all day but it was far enough way from the site that it wasn't too noisy or disturbing. The lake here is the Revelstoke Resevoir. It is calm, glassy and clear. It's also quite cold but it was over 90 degrees every day so it still felt good to swim, a good thing as there are no showers here and we were tent-camping. The pit toilets don't smell at all. We loved the views, the water, the quiet and the privacy.
One other note - we camped next to a lovely couple who, it turned out, live in the town of Revelstoke. The weather was so hot they had decided to move up to Martha Creek and tent camp for two weeks, driving into town each day for work. It says a lot about a campground if locals will come and spend two weeks there over their own homes.
