Canyon Hot Springs
Reviewed 3 January 2014

We (family of 4) had stayed here for 1 night in the summer. We had rented a log cabin which included bunk beds for the kids. Please note that the cheaper cabins do not include bedding (which their website states). The cabin we originally got had an odor (possibly a wet dog) so we had asked to be re-located to another similar cabin. When we asked (to be moved) the staff was uncooperative and rude, then the owner had to get involved and approved of the move. The hot springs pool was average compared to other hot springs that we have been to. The night stay included a free breakfast which was okay. Overall I would not recommend staying in their log cabins (due to the price/value) plus the overall service was below average (and rude at times). If you decide to camp here the (hot springs) pool access is an additional charge.

We camped here on the way back from a Banff vacation. The ground were very well kept, there was a lot of place to ride our bikes and we spent hours in the pool.
We had a site close to the pool and the office however most of the sites were a failry long walk away. We ate dinner from the takeaway counter one night, it was fine but there was very little selection. It would be nice to have the spring pool prices included if you are staying here.

Our family would definalty stay here again.

Agnes and her staff are wonderful! We have never felt so welcomed and like part of the family. The cabins are adorable and clean, breakfast was delicious and the hot springs were refreshing. Absolutely a perfect place to get away and relax.

We have stopped here to camp numerous times over the years just for a night on our way back and forth between Alberta and BC. This past weekend we spent three nights here with a group of people and what an excellent place for a gathering. Some of us camped and some rented cabins and everyone was very happy with the whole experience. There are camping spots with or without services and they all seemed to be very nice spots. The serviced lots don't have their own fire pits but there are a few communal fire pits throughout the place that must be for those. There is laundry facilities as well as showers for a fee and bathrooms with flush toilets and running water in various locations throughout this large resort. There is over 200 camping spots as well as a number of cabins and chalets of various sizes. The cabins are reasonably priced and the nightly fee includes a hot breakfast and passes for the mineral pools. There are a number of tourist attractions close by and this definitely makes this resort very economical and good place to make home for a few days.

This is the third time I have stopped here and all camping experiences were bad. If you are tenting the Blanket Creek Provincial site on the way to Nelson and only 30 minutes from this place has better overflow camping sites than here. Come on- $33 and then they charge $3 for a shower! No water taps nearby so get ready to haul water.

Our second visit here. The dollhouse log cabins are really unique. Previous reviewers complained about lack of amenities in the cabins - they need to go stay in a hotel as this is very basic and completely different experience. Breakfast included, hot springs included, reasonably priced in a very scenic spot! We'll be back!

Our favourite BC destination. Clean and way beyond well maintained whether camping or cabins. Kids love watching the trains go by, mineral pools largely uncrowded. For over 25 years in a row we've loved to sit in the hot pool and look at the mountains, hold family reunions and just sneak away to camp. Its a family business and their pride in what they've built shows. Not a place to go if you want a highly programmed adventure but a wonderful hideaway to unwind at.

Room Tip: I don't think there are any bad campsites, but if you've never been there, maybe ask for one...
