“Quick and good”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

This walk up fish and chips restaurant was very good. They have several sidewalk tables along with a room with tables. It was a quick and tasty treat for a day of sightseeing!

“The best Fish&Chips”
Reviewed 18 July 2014 via mobile

We've found this place through Trip Advisor and we've read the reviews. We chose two kids Fish and Chips for $5,95 a piece and two normal sized with one piece of fish for $7,95. Honestly we were not expecting much, but it was the best Fish and Chips we had ever tasted!!! (We have been in Scotland and England, sorry guys) the restaurant is quite small, but on a nice day you can sit outside or take your F&C up to the quay or boardwalk. Don't miss this when you are in Port Alberni

“Didn't see this one coming...”
Reviewed 11 July 2014

The visitor's center directed me to the Queen's Quay. Found this parking spot right next to this order window and decided it was lunch time. Paid CAD$12 for a 2-piece cod and chips and took it to eat while enjoying the harbor view. The fish came out huge (just like the Tripadvisor photo) - longer than the 10" plate that it came with. What surprised me the most was the light, thin batter that surrounded the fish - not heavy like beer batter, not fluffy like tempura - so the fish remained the main character. The fries too were covered in a thin batter and were crispy throughout.

I tried a lot of fish and chips places on the island and this was the best one of all. It's worth visiting.

“Unsuspecting Delight”
Reviewed 18 June 2014 via mobile

We had just finished a long day in Pacific Rim National park and were making our way back to the east coast of the island and decided to we needed a meal. We journeyed into the old part of town rather than the busy new development along the highway. We found ourself in a market quay area at the Marina later on a Saturday night and Turtle Island happened to be open. It is a tiny walk up burger and fries type of establishment with a small seating area inside also. We reviewed the menu and both decided on the Halibut burgers, I am glad we did as they were the best we have had in a long time. Very large portion and didn't leave you feeling heavy from too much grease from being deep fried. The very nice lady running the till had a goof up processing our payment and was very gracious and polite when she was correcting it. They even called us the next day to ensure we weren't double billed and say sorry again. For affordable tasty food with sincere service I would visit again.
