Had orginally planned to camp on the island but at the last minute decided needed to relax and unwind without the stresses of living in a tent. Selected Beach Acres from the mostly positive reviews and was not disappointed. Stayed 5 nights in a 2 bedroom oceanview townhouse that overlooked the beach, plenty of room for our family of 5. What was most impressive was lots of grassy areas for kids to play or throw a football.
The beach was the main attraction - when the tide went out it seems like you could walk forever. Spent alot of time trying to skim board, observing the aquatic life in the tide pools. When the tide was in went to the pool or played some pool or tennis. Didn't take much advantage of the kid's program but they had 2 full time staff to coordinate kids activities throughout the day. There's a mini-golf course pretty much next door and Rathtrevor park is steps away along hte beach.
Took in the sites around the area - would strongly suggest visiting Cathedral Grove and the magnificient old growth forest.
It was a great trip. Would do it again.More
