About the worst customer service I have ever had in my life. We booked 3 months in advance for a small non-smoking room on the beach. We were called and notified (by voice message) that we would have to stay in a larger room for the entire stay and pay the rate for this larger room (which was about $50 more a night making our vacation $300 more expensive). Long story ..... we got the short end of the stick. There were no apologies, no attempts to correct the situation on the part of motel staff, no improved service. I had to call three times after we stayed to try and sort it out with the booking manager alll to no avail.

Avoid this motel at all costs.

We stayed for a whole week, and it went by too fast. One or two days would not have been enough. Our kids had a blast at the ocean everyday, and we had no worries as we could see them from our balcony. The water was pretty much waist deep for quite a ways when the tide was in, and tons of sand and tide pools when the tide was out.The rooms were large, thank goodness as we have 3 kids. This is a great place, for families and friends. We opted for daily towel service, for the daily "sand" issues and as for maid service.....we just kept our own room clean ; ) We will definately go back. The motel and ocean were amazing! Also check out Englishman River, it's a great place to spend the afternoon.

We got home from the Sea Edge last week after a weekend stay at a great little motel. We found it just by fluke as we were driving through town. It is located right on a gorgeous long sandy beach where the tide goes way out which makes for wonderful walks.
Our kids were in heaven digging in the sand and exploring the tidal pools. There is a kids playground right on the property and the biggest playground I've ever seen 5 minutes walk down the beach. Every room in the motel has fantastic unobstructed views. The staff at the front desk were very helpful in giving us some tips of local sights we should check out.
The rooms are spacious and very clean. It looks as if there were some renovations done to the rooms very recently. The bathrooms were gleaming white. For me theres nothing worse than a filthy bathroom!!!
What was great for us was the kitchenette which was well stocked with all we needed to prepare meals including complimentary coffee.
It was a pleasant surprise to stumble along this place. We spent an extra night actually. Very reasonably priced winter rates.
We'll try to come back again.

A very high price to pay for a very old Motel. It was initially clean and the view is hard to beat. For $50 more you could stay in a brand-new resort right next door. Our biggest beef was the maid service or lack thereof. They took our towels from the tub and replaced w/ clean and plunked a new coffee pouch on the used/dirty coffee maker/pot. Garbages we're not emptied, floor wasn't vacuumed, counters weren't wiped, nor a couple of dirty coffee cups/plate cleaned. We had called the day before for early check-in and told no-problem, but when we got there, it hadn't been cleaned yet. They didn't care when we told them at the front desk about the poor service. They seem to just want to gouge the customer until some resort buys them out and tears it down. We'd never stay there again.

We stayed here 1 night on 3rd Aug, and wished we would have stayed longer. A great place right on the beach with nice rooms with either patios or balconies, all overlooking the beach. Family run, very very friendly and great set up for families - all the kids were playing together and having a ball. There are BBQs for hire and big fire pits down by the beach with free wood. I can imagine that families come here again and again over the years, I know I would if I lived in British Columbia. Having said it was great for families, we are a couple only and still thought it was a fantastic place. The only downer is that they are building luxury villas next door, but they didn't really bother us too much - and stopped at 4pm anyway, so you had the whole evening wandering on the sand and looking out over the water in peace.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, our fridge had been serviced, so the ice hadn't froze yet in the ice trays in the room, so they immediately gave me a big bowl of ice. The room had more ammenities, was bigger and a great view, all for $110 cheaper than the previous night's stay at the Orca outside of Tofino (see my other review of that).

If you want a great place to stay with very friendly staff, great facilites and loads to do, come to this place!
