“Always Great”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

Make sure you reserve a unit early. This place is deservedly popular.
Situated about a half mile above Nelson on the highway to Salmo, the well-maintained older motel is always our pick.
Microwaves; fridges; laundry; and a computer in the laundry room provide those things that make a stay more pleasant.
Relatively quiet, with air conditioners that are not keeping you awake, and parking outside each unit, for approximately $130 a night, it's a great deal.
The staff, especially the young lady from the Netherlands, have been there a long time. When you see little staff turnover, you are seeing good employers and a good facility.

Room Tip: Check in before four-it gets busy after that.

Was expecting something nicer. Wish I hadn't booked this place. Would try another place next time for sure. Location wasn't great, noisy, smelly and not at all what I was hoping for. No privacy or view. Wouldn't recommend and couldn't wait to leave.

spent 3 days in Nelson on a mountain biking trip and stayed here for two nights.
great place to stay. It was clean and had a kitchen so we could cook before and after riding.
friendly staff. there is a bbq which you can use and a hose which we used to clean our bikes after riding.
a short walk to baker st as well.
this is our second stay and will be staying here again.

Room Tip: we always get lower a ground suite so we can chill out front on some chairs

We were surprised at how inexpensive this hotel was. It has a new paint job and has been recently renovated. The desk staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel seemed well cared for and clean. It is a older hotel so has a few rough edges but overall a decent place for the night. They have a number of different sized rooms and I would ask to see the room before you stay. The room we chose was much to small for the two of us with two dogs and did not have a comfortable place to it to watch tv. The room is next to a busy road but we were not bothered by road noise and if you like to walk you can walk into town.

Room Tip: Ask to see a room and compare.

We stayed in the two bedroom family suite. For the price we paid, did not feel it was good value. Had a highway outside our windows that roared all the time. The futon in the living room was so uncomfortable that my son still talks about it. There was only 1 TV in the living room and none in the bedrooms. Was missing some of the basic essentials like an iron and board. On the positive side the hotel was clean, partially renovated and staff were friendly. Needs new windows though, to subdue the road noise.

We stayed here for 5 nights in first of June, 2014. It was a great hotel to have as a home base to visit family there. It was clean and bright and close to downtown - 15 minutes walking distance. The staff were very helpful and very friendly. We had a kitchenette with all necessary equipment, which was great for one night BBQ (on their outdoor BBQ) and some snacks and breakfasts.

I would highly recommend this place as very clean and very convenient.
thanks Alpine

There were three of us so we stayed in the 2 bedroom suite and couldn't have asked for a nicer place. The room was very clean and came fully supplied with stove, fridge and all dishes & pots, pans etc.We had hardly checked in before someone was at the door to see if we needed anything. The room had recently been renovated with new flooring, carpet and fresh paint. The beds were very comfy and the shower was amazing. The location is very close to downtown and only a 4 or 5 min walk. Oh and did I mention how nice the owners are, they did everything possible to make our stay perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and would highly recommend the Alpine Inn to everyone. We most certainly will be back.Thank you for a wonderful stay!
