“Tranquil, dog-friendly cabin with something for everyone.”

We stayed in the Robin's Nest cabin - 2 adults, 2 pre-teens and our dog - and had a wonderful stay. Joan and John are wonderful hosts and maintain the property beautifully. We were able to get the relaxation we needed, as well as take advantage of some of the many activities the east shore offers. The Kootenay Lake ferry is a must do, as is the trek up to the Lighthouse. We went to three different beaches during our stay and enjoyed them all; the kids especially like the the crystal clear water we just don't see back home. We took the artisan's walk from North Woven Broom to the Dog Patch and made every stop in between. The market had everything we needed to cook at home, but we did enjoy a few treats out - breakfast at Mojo's (which we understand is closing :( because the land it's on is being sold), Red's Bakery and the Ice Cream shop behind the market. The property itself has a waterfall and, while a bit of a hike, well worth the walk. The badminton court kept the kids busy while we watched from the veranda. We also took the self-guided tour of the estate and were absolutely fascinated with the history of the site. All in all, we had a wonderful family vacation and feel so fortunate to have discovered this property - we can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay. We'll definitely be back and will try the Kingfisher cabin next time, as it is bigger and probably better suited for our family.

“Quiet, Cozy, Full Amenities Cabin in Crawford Bay”
Reviewed 6 June 2017 for a stay in May 2017

You will love the ferry ride over from Belfor (35 min) that gives you views of the mountains, lakeside cabins and homes. The Ferry is free and has all the comforts you can get.

The cabin is a 10 minute drive from the ferry terminal and passes through the small town with a grocery store, small restaurants, campground and a gas station. It is a new home with two bedrooms upstairs that have one queen bed and one double bed. The kitchen, full bath and living room are on the main floor. They are all very nicely decorated and very functional. Great for a family as there are fire pits, badminton, crochet and trails to hike. We used the BBQ for grilling the catch of the day on Kootney lake.

The owners are on the property and are very helpful and great folks.

“Beautiful and Pristine”

One of the most beautiful places we have stayed in a while. The natural setting is unsurpassed, the cabins are very clean and comfortable and show pride of ownership – THANK YOU for all the amenities; it was obvious you have put great thought into your guests needs. There was a great deal of snow which fell during the night so four wheel drive would be recommended if travelling to the area in winter, but the driveway was cleared early for our use (very thoughtful) and the snow just added to the beauty and tranquillity of the surroundings making it a true winter wonderland. Also, the water was very refreshing and clean (a silly thing to mention but some of you might relate).

“Tranquility at its best”
Reviewed 7 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We spent three nights at the Robin's nest during the labor day long weekend. It was so quaint and peaceful. The cabin was great and had everything we needed for our stay. We brought all of our own food and cooked meals using the fully equipped kitchen. We were happy that it was dog friendly and the rules are easy enough to follow.
THe location is great. Not far from the ferry to Nelson and only a few minutes to the Beach or to the Artisan shops. Just outside your door there is also a pond, firepit, and a volleyball/badminton court. Not to mention easy access to the Waterfall trail which is definitely worth the hike! We thought it was very interesting that the waterfall had once powered the manor with the electricity, many years before the rest of the town had it. If you take the trail make sure you stop at the view point for a nice view of the town/glacier.

“Outstanding experience”
Reviewed 24 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Such beautiful quality

Such a gorgeous setting
Relaxing, tranquil, stunning natural beauty.

The owners are so sweet, they help you with a wagon to carry your food /luggage to the cabins

The gardens are beautiful rustic British feel to them as the 'Wedgwood' family previously owned the property.

There is everything needed to cook with, a large leather sofa and deck chairs and serenity ponds to gaze into with stunning glacier vistas in the background.

Very dog friendly property if you bring you pup- there are some conditions that need to be respected, but they have thought of so much.

Fresh cookies were brought to us on our 2nd day.

A badminton court in front along with 50 acres to explore - they have a waterfall hike in the property as well.

If you want anything just ask the owners who are on the property.

The gurgling Brooke, lily of the valley and soon the lipoma will be blooming.
What a wonderful get away.

A soaker tub upstairs, and a small shower downstairs allows those preference for each individual

Such a wonderful experience.

Great space for families as some can stay in the Wedgwood Manor, and some could be in the cabins so that you can cook and just relax as a group.

There is a 2 bedroom cabin beside as well.

Looking forward to returning.

“Love the Kingfisher Cabin!”

We stayed at the Kinfisher Cabin (2 Adults / 2 preadolescent boys) - a perfect "Boxing day to Jan. 2" time -out and rejuvenation for our family! A beautiful location / love the nature and outdoors- trails/ kids tobogganing nearby, plus central location for our various day trips. Joan H. and John are personable, informative and fantastic hosts! The beautiful cabin is clean, and we had ample room for the 4 of us - Full kitchen facilities helped for our cooking/ budgeting purposes. All the comforts of home, and not lacking a thing! The bed mattresses are very comfortable. We highly recommend the Wedgewood Estate Cabins, and will certainly stay again if we are ever in the area!
