The first night on our Canada trip we had some beer and dinner here. Steaks were big and tasted very good, recommended!

“Eat before you go there.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 April 2013

One positive, the waitress was friendly. However her performance was less than stellar. Had to ask 4 times for water. Waited 45 min to get appetizer (calamari) which arrived lukewarm and was not worth the wait. The entree was miniscule, lacked flavor and was overpriced for what it was. Very disappointing. The name of of the restaurant offered promise but failed to deliver.

“A pleasant surprise in Hope”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 December 2012

We had a lovely meal at the Driftwynd (TripAdvisor entry has the name spelled incorrectly).

The restaurant had been recommended to us by our B&B hosts and we weren't too sure what to think when we approached the restaurant and found it shared a building with a liquor store.

HOWEVER. What a nice meal we had! Although not the cheapest restaurant in Hope (but not the most expensive either), the quality of the food rivalled any great restaurant in Vancouver. We were not disappointed. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

“menu items unavailable including desserts...”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 December 2012

At 5:00 p.m. on a Saturday evening. They did not have a menu item,, During our dinner we were never attended by our server or asked if we would like to have a drink.. At desert time. They only had 2 pieces of their chefs special left... was suppose to come with our meals... tasted very old and dry... After speaking to the owner,, he offered to give us a piece of frozen cheese cake to bring home,,,, saying that staff had forgotten to take it out of the freezer,,, This was our second bad experience,, without desired item not on the menu,,, There will not be the third
