This restaurant is right on Highway 1, about 15 minutes north of Hope, BC. It opens at 8:30am every morning and is worth finding. They specialize in very large hamburgers named after transport trucks, but I can only speak about the breakfast. Great cheerful service; great coffee, and the best hashbrowns I've had in a long time.
The café walls are lined with vintage photos of long-distance truckers and trucks, and the entrance has racks with every current trucking magazine you might want to read over your coffee. This family-run restaurant also offers several authentic Indian dishes (like Butter Chicken), making them unique among truck stops.
Look for the red-roofed Husky gas station with numerous chainsaw-carved bears and eagles on and around it. Dogwood Valley Café is at 27052 Baker Road at Hwy. 1.
