Blaeberry Mountain Lodge

We booked it all. 2 cabins, the cottage and the log lodge. It was my 40th Birthday and I wanted to spend it in the mountains with friends and family. We couldn't have picked a better place. Renate was always quick to respond to the many questions that I had emailed before our arrival. Renate and Rainer are wonderful hosts and their property is truly a winter wonderland. Our friends enjoyed great snowshoeing on the property, cross country skiing on the Blaeberry River and snowboarding and skiing at Kicking Horse. My 2 huskies and I enjoyed the kicksledding and skijoring that we were able to do right from the door of the lodge. This is the kind of place that you never want to leave.

While the locale is quiet and scenic, about 20 minutes outside of Golden, the accommodations are very comfortable, spacious, and well appointed, woody but not too rustic. There is a tipi, though, if you'd like the experience of sleeping closer to nature.
One afternoon when it rained, we sat on the front porch of the Moberly cabin, dry and cozy with a view of the mountains. In the evening guests gathered around a bright, warm campfire. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. I'd stay there again!

Wow, what a beautiful place! Such amazing accommodations. We loved the lodge and were so impressed by the log building and wood work. Beautiful views of the valley and mountains all around. Very rustic and scenic. Great waking up to horses grazing right out the front door of our lodge. We will remember your place again for future trips. Darlene and Roger

We stayed in a wonderful log cabin and cooked our own meals. This is a lovely location and easy to find. We highly recommend it. The owners were very helpful on where to go too. It was very peaceful there.

The Blaeberry Mountain Lodge is a place that stays with you for a very long time. It has been over a year since we stayed there and wonderful memories come flooding back. The owners were so warm and kind - they brought over a basket of apples that they had just picked off their trees. We had booked one of the smaller cabins - it was cozy and immaculate. When we opened the door, wood was already burning in the fireplace - such a welcoming touch. The property is a piece of heaven - there is a hiking trail just out the cabin door and horses in the pasture. In the evening, we sat around a lovely campfire with other guests from Europe. Go - if you want a very special and unique Rocky Mountain experience.

Blaeberry is a peaceful getaway from the hectic, busy, commercial environment. We stayed two nights and enjoyed the change in scenery. The owners/hosts are kind and helpful. The resident dogs and horses are interesting to watch. The cabin we stayed in was cute and had all the basics amenities. The only downside was that it was right next door to another cabin and we could see/hear the occupants in that other cabin as they came and went. The wood burning fireplace was the highlight. There is no TV, no radio, but the cabin has a selection of games and books. It is very much like being at the cottage, without the lake. If you're looking for a place to stay to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is a good option.
