Awesome location. Cleaning every 4 days. The room was dirty. Stayed many places from high end to budget. Never had a place so dirty. Our concerns were promptly addressed the next day. You are kind of on your own here. Don't expect to be waited on. Grocery store closes early but, the town site has everything. It was quiet
And lots to do outdoors. Loved going to see Boo the grizzly and
Take the gondola to the restaurant. This is a good budget place. If you don't mind being on your own and perhaps bring some comet! The hit tub is small and just ok.

While waiting to check in we read how ecowonderful the premises were.Upon entering our suite we slowly discovered the truth! Not a single compact florescent bulb just incandescents and halogen bulbs spewing forth the carbon dioxide . Then there was the tv a crt monster from another
era . You could hear the death agonies from the white bears every time you flipped a switch . The eco talk was certainly not followed up by the walk.

We usually stay at a hotel along the highway in Golden to break up the trip from Calgary to the Okanagan, but I decided to forgo the sound of highway traffic and head up to Kicking Horse Resort. The check-in process was efficient and informative, the 2 bedroom suite was perfect for our group of 6 (including 4 teenagers). Supper on the outdoor patio of the pub was entertaining, surrounded by families of hard-core mountainbike enthusiasts. We spent the evening relaxing in our patio hot-tub and playing board games that we discovered in the TV cabinet. A great start to our vacation!

Room Tip: Glacier Mountain Lodge is a little walk up the hill from the other hotels and likely quieter. 2 bed...

Mouse in toilet, 38 + degrees celsius in the room at night with no window or climate control. Nice room but terrible stay. We woke up In the middle of The night to an extremely hot room. Then my girlfriend woke up later at about 4 o'clock in the morning to a mouse swimming in the toilet which I did not have the heart to kill so I put him in a cup and put him outside

My sister, husband and I were looking to split up a long drive to BC over the August long weekend and decided to stay in Golden. As we would only be there for a night and are on a budget we didn't want something much more than $100 - when my sister booked this lodge at that price I assumed that it was a crappy motel. I didn't realize it was right on the beautiful kicking horse ski resort, only it was off season. In the dark it was a bit tricky to find the building with the check-in, but once we did we were granted an underground parking spot and it was easy to find our room.

We were pleasantly surprised to find it was an contemporary, clean and cozy apartment style suite with a full kitchen, lovely bathroom (with tub and separate shower), personal laundry/dryer and a small balcony. The bed (and sofa bed) were super comfortable, the view was spectacular, it was quiet and cool in the hot summer time. The room had a locked door to an adjacent room that would be great for big family or friend group trips. We wished we had known it would be this awesome and we would have liked to stay longer. We would definitely stay again in the summer or wintertime!

Room Tip: Off-season this hotel was just as cheap as a crappy motel on the Golden strip but the stay was a hun...

Just finished a 5 night stay at the Hotel. Overall we had a great experience, and for the price we paid amazing value for money, it is a lovely place.

We had a 1 bedroom suite -equipped with everything you need and a lovely view from balcony. It's a quiet peaceful area, if you are looking for centre of town bars and restaurants it's not for you but I would still say come for a few days as there is loads to do around Kicking Horse. We rode the gondola up the mountain, bit of hiking, horse riding right across the road and golf nearby, and it's not busy so there is no queuing!!

The reception staff are great, very friendly and helpful. We laughed when we saw some of the bad reviews about air conditioning - we stayed in the middle of August and the temperature was fine. Yes ok, air con would be a nice luxury to add on if the hotel could improve in any way but in 30 degree heat we managed just fine.

We stayed for two nights in August.

The good...
Our suite was quiet. We had good meals at the cafe, Peaks restaurant, and the restaurant at the top of the hill. We enjoyed taking the gondola to the top of the hill where we did a spectacular hike along a mountain ridge. Next time I visit I want to try downhill mountain biking. The bike trails look incredible and there were very few riders using them.

The bad....
Our suite was dirty. Stained carpet, crumbs on the floor, etc. No air conditioning. There was a fan provided bit it was still way too hot in our suite. The bed was very uncomfortable. I could feel the springs.
The resort isn't up and running 100% in the summer. Restaurant hours were limited and the saloon was serving only burgers off the menu due to a new cook or reduced staff in the kitchen.
