My wife and I had done this trip on the Kicking Horse river many years ago ,which we really enjoyed. As we had planned a trip that would take us through Golden again, I suggested we try rafting again.
When we arrived the day of our trip, all was going as planned, until the point we had to get out of the raft and with the guide, and other patrons, were asked to lug the raft out of the water, because we had to portage around an area in the river.
When we reached the point where we would re-enter the river, the same was expected of us, as in lugging the raft back down to the river, and out again when we reached the end of the trip.
I found this this very nervy, as along with myself, my wife, and others in our group that don't find this type of manual labor as easy as we might have when we were younger.
For this reason alone ,we will unlikely return.
