We spent four days at this wonderful BB. We were travelling with another couple and stayed in the Jay suite which became our home away from home at the end of each action packed day. Maurizio and Susan are perfect hosts. Maurizo helped us plan our day and kept us entertained with his stories and his sense of humour. Susan is a fantastic cook and every morning was a new culinary experience. We were only able to enjoy one evening meal but it was a masterpiece. If you have time, do book an evening meal here. You will not be disappointed.
Thank you for a memorable holiday and all the cooking tips!

Room Tip: The Jay suite is great for two couples or a family.

What to say? There is not one single downside to this fine, elegant and at the same time rustic B&B in the middle of 6 different National Parks. 5 stars thoroughly if you care about peace, nature, excellent dinners, atmosphere. I can't wait to be back!

This was our first one night stop on our trip through the Rockies and back and figured it would be tough to top and we were right. Friendly greeting, lovely accommodations and wonderful food. The log house is beautiful and we were upgraded to a two bedroom suite which was so clean, comfortable and very well stocked, right down to Lego for little ones or jig saw puzzles for others. Sorry we didn't stay long enough to enjoy it all more. We arranged to purchase dinner the night of our stay and were so glad we did. I wish we'd brought our own wine...next time.... but the meal was 3 courses of very inventive, delicious food, using a lot of local ingredients and home made treats. Breakfast the next morning was everything we could ask for and more. The value here is unbeatable. We would be so happy to stay here again and highly recommend this lovely place. The only slight issue was noise from other rooms, not that the other guests were noisy, but there seems to be very little sound proofing.

On a whim we decided to take an extra day driving home to Vancouver from Calgary, so with a quick search for BBs in Golden we found Il Nido Country Inn. After looking over a couple of other places, we decided on Il Nido mostly because of the great pictures, the log cabin building and the remote location, finally some quiet time was to be had. We arrived early afternoon and were greeted by the beautiful and friendly dog "Kelly". Close behind were our amazing hosts, Maurizio & Susan who promptly got us checked in and into our room, the Eagle Room.

The room was recently renovated and looked fantastic. The kitchen had all the gear needed to put together a dinner of our own. The fresh glacier water to drink out of the tap was excellent, if only we brought more bottles to bring it with us when we left. Maurizio showed us the outdoor hot tub and got us up and running on how to use all of it's features, from here we got to enjoy a perfect soak in their great tub. This was followed with a walk to enjoy the property and soak in the great views.

Breakfast was AMAZING. Susan is a master, it looked like something I would have found on a television breakfast food competition. I cannot recommend staying here enough. We have found our little gem in the mountains, half way for family in BC and Alberta, likely to become a destination spot for years and years to come for us. If you are coming through town, this is absolutely your best bet.

A night stay in the Eagle Suite. We found it hard to leave the beautiful, awe-inspiring and breathtaking place which we have fallen in love with. It is exceptional, deserve a six stars on TA!

To be frank, we were considering another accommodation which was "ranked higher-up" on TA who replied there was available rooms after we have expressed my interest to Il Nido. At the moment, we were wavering on our decision. We decided to go ahead with Il Nido as we have given our word. With the benefit of hindsight, we are very glad that we went ahead with the booking with Il Nido.

Il Nido is nestled between the Rockies and the Purcell mountains. It is located a distance away from the main road, probably about a 10mins drive during the winter. I truly enjoyed the solitude which brought us peace, comfort and tranquility back into our life. Being city dwellers who lead fast-paced lifestyles, we face challenges when it comes to finding peace and quiet. We have forgotten how to savor each moment in our life. Il Nido is a place where I could just forget my worries and just relax and chill. Truly enjoy the nature at its very best, away from the hustle and bustle. The room was very cozy and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Not to forget Il Nido very warm and welcoming host, Maurizio and another hospitable and cordial young lady (I am sorry, forgot her name). We really enjoyed the hearty and delicious breakfast she prepared. We had a good time chatting with them and playing with the adorable dog. I will definitely make sure we plan Il Nido into our itinerary the next time we visit Canada. It is more than just an accommodation that provides a place for us to spend a night and recharge.

Thanks for having such a wonderful B&B.
