“Nice Hideaway in Off Season”
Reviewed 14 November 2013

This was a really great place to stay. During off season it is quiet and very romantic. I would definitely stay here during ski season and in the summer as well. Its nice and tucked away. The accommodation itself was clean and rather large. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed to make all meals while on vacation. I would definitely recommend this accommodation to friends and family and plan to stay here next time I am in Kicking Horse.

Thank you for your great review of the Aspens at Kicking Horse
Individual Hot Tubs, BBQs in both summer or winter are a great treat for everyone. The shoulder seasons are quite private and relaxing. (and a great time to view the wildlife) The Aspens are truly are a mini home away from home!
Please view our Bellstar webpage for any upcoming special packages and promotions for your return of winter ski holiday fun!

Views were incredible! Rooms were neat organized and completely clean even in the hard to reach spots. Hot tubs looked brand new. Price was fantastic. Very impressed will be back and so will my friends!

We stayed here for two nights for a wedding. The place was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed using the hot tub. No noise but an easy walk down to the gondola. Kitchen supplies are included. The Internet was not set up when we arrived, but we called and someone promptly was able to fix it for us.

Thank You for your great review of the Aspens.

A self contained condo in the mountains, some quiet time, a hot tub, BBQ with fantastic views, and a short distance walk to everything at the resort, is always is a big hit with our guests. We hope you had a great time while at the wedding, and glad we could enhance your stay while here.

We hope to be able to host you again on a future stay with us. Please be sure to ask for our "Return Guest Rate" when you book directly through Bellstar.

We stayed at the Aspens at Kicking Horse for a week in July. It was fabulous. First of all, they have great communication. After booking online, we received a phone call from a very pleasant lady. This was followed up by several emails and all kinds of instructions - from directions, to nearby attractions, maps, codes for the unit we were given and rules. We rented a two bedroom condo and were very happy with it. The kitchen was equipped with great appliances and everything you need for cooking. The bed was comfortable. The unit was very clean. The in suite laundry was appreciated as we were on a two week road trip - with a week being spent at this location ... and speaking of location you couldn't ask for a better one. While here, we visited Yoho, Glacier and Revelstoke National Parks. All very close. We enjoyed the Aspens so much that we just stuck around "home for a couple of our days here, sunning on the huge, beautiful deck, barbecuing dinners and sitting in the hot tub loving the mountain scenery. It was very relaxing and an absolutely perfect holiday. We highly recommend staying here.

The views are great. Overall, Kicking Horse is a nice resort with some potential. This resort is still developing, evident in the multitude of units for sale.
However, if you are renting in the Aspens condos, be sure to get an upper unit. The lower units can be extremely noisy if you have people above you due to poor building design (the upper unit’s deck and hot tubs are directly over the lower unit’s living area). The private hot tubs are enjoyable. Private for your use but not from onlookers as the units can be quite close together. The resort maintains the hot tubs fairly well. There is no regular front desk coverage at night during the week, only on weekends.
The resort’s environmental ‘efforts’ on their website are nothing more than a spin on some cost saving implementations. There is no recycling of anything besides beverage bottles and cans for the deposit return. There are noxious weed growing everywhere throughout the development. Some real effort in this area would have helped the green image of the resort.

Thank you for your comments about your recent stay in the Aspens. The individual unit hot tubs is a big favorite for most guests. During the quiet shoulder seasons, the front desk is only opened for limited hours, but there is always a representative on site for questions and / or emergencies. During the summer months the front desk is open extended, and 24 hours/day during peak times.

Our Eco-Stay program is our volunteered environmental initiative that does go back to the resorts to fund a variety of green programs used throughout all of the Bellstar properties. We do recycle all materials that we can recycle within our area, including deposit items and paper and cardboard and electronics. If the guest separates it before going into the garbage bins, it will indeed be recycled. Although the landscaping is organised through the home owners themselves, the property since your review, has since been maintained and weed free.

We appreciate your comments and suggestions, and we hope to be able host your future vacation get-a-ways.

Calm, peaceful, chilled, clean, well positioned, great facilities: what more can I say?! I cannot recommend this cabin enough for those who would like a self catered, secluded break with facilities within a very short distance! I recommend shopping at the supermarket as the previous poster said- the grocery store has basics but you should make the most of the barbecue! Highly recommend the horse riding, bear sanctuary and lunch at the top of the mountain! Loved it- definitely a highlight of our trip!

Thank you for your review of your recent trip to The Aspens.

We are very glad you enjoyed your quiet time at the resort. It sounds like you enjoyed a lot of the activities offered within the immediate area. You are correct that the main bulk of groceries should be purchased in Golden, and The General Store at the resort is great for picking up some smaller items and souvenirs and amenities. A BBQ on the patio is always a great way to dine at home!

We hope to host you again on your next visit!

We stayed here for a week in order to be with our daughter and family who were staying in the next condo for the ski season.
Our daughter did the check in for us before we arrived which was very helpful.
We found the condo to be very clean and it had every thing we needed.
The bed was very comfortable and the heating was very good and you could adjust it easily.
We had such lovely mountain views and experienced so many changes in the weather systems during a day!
We shopped in Golden at Overweaty which is an excellent supermarket .
I was sorry the general store at Kicking Horse closed at the end of the ski season but will reopen on Canada Day.
Apart from that,we had a lovely experience and I was able to make a lovely birthday cake for our grandson!
We hope to return next April to unit 48 if possible!

Thank you for the wonderful comments from your recent stay with us at Aspens at Kicking Horse. I’m delighted to hear that you had an exceptional experience with us along with being able to spend some quality time with your family. Unfortunately the 12/13 winter season came to an end on April 7 and all the restaurants, retail outlets and general store close until the end of June at which time they will re-open for the summer season. When planning your next visit please contact Bellstar Hotels & Resorts directly for some great additional savings, as well please be sure to request the unit in which you desire and we will do our best to accommodate the request.
