“A Good Find”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

We stayed here during a weekend of mountain biking in Golden. The Tschurtschenthaler Lodge was't my first choice but most of the B&Bs in town were booked up, however I am glad I ended up here!
The owners were super friendly, and the other guests staying at the same time were a laugh. We ended up spending one evening sitting in the sunny lounge drinking wine and chatting.
The rooms were very comforable and had lots of character, with wood being the theme. The breakfast was also delicious.

I stayed one night at the Tschurtschentaler lodge. I booked a room with a view because views were supposed to be great. Unfortunately I arrived in the dark and when I left the morning after it was foggy, so I can't describe them. It finds itself a bit outside Golden, 6 km away from the centre, near the highway 95. Pay attention, it's not easy to spot it when it gets dark.

Tschurtschentaler Lodge is a friendly and comfortable B&B, it offers very good service, good sleep and a heartwarming host. Breakfast is indeed special.
Clearly not a budget accomodation, but a place to choose, as it provides fair value for money.

We stayed at this B&B for one night when our friends were getting married down the road. We had such an amazing stay. The house is very clean and very spacious. There are so many wood carvings to look at; it has a lot of character and was recently built. The views on the balcony are spectacular although we didn't get a chance to sit on the balcony and enjoy it. To make everything better, the owner Brandy is extremely nice. You can tell that she really loves her job and it shows in the effort she puts in to make it a very enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

The lodge has wonderful views, but the highlight is Brandy's welcome - she really made our stay in Golden one we would not forget. We stayed six nights and had a different breakfast every day and they were all delicious. She found us someone to take us on one of the local hikes which we would never have found on our own. Nothing was too much trouble.
The other guests were always interesting and friendly too.
Everything was so spotless we thought it was all newly renovated, but no this is just normal. Finally Golden is a great base to explore the Rockies from - good communications, but not touristy.

We can only confirm what all the others here have said: It is an amazing place in a great area with a wonderful host - Brandy.. Very comfortable rooms, great attention to detail, superb breakfast. I can't think of anything that could be improved. We stayed for a couple of nights in August 2013 and had such a great time. From Golden, you can start several day trips (Yoho NP, Revelstoke NP), Rafting on the Kicking Horse River...

So if you have the chance, stay for a few days, it is absolutely worth it.

To be honest, we chose this B&B because it was one of the few that had rooms available. As a result, we weren't expecting much. WOW! What a surprise! Our room was lovely - nicer than the photo had led us to believe - and the view was fantastic. The main floor was a delight with brightly-colored, whimsical furniture and it felt very homey and comfortable. Brandy made us feel welcome and cooked an amazing breakfast. Everything about our stay was great! The only downside was the occasional noise from the traffic on the road below and the passing trains. However, these did not bother us at all during the night.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with a view!

We spent 6 nights at Tschurtschenthaler Lodge as part of a family holiday to Canada. Brandy is an excellent cook and our breakfasts were wonderfully varied ... and large enough to keep us going until early afternoon. She was happy to make recommendations for day trips and restaurants to eat in - and we loved all of them. We had one of the front rooms with a terrace overlooking the mountains which was glorious. We also spent time on the larger terrace downstairs eating al fresco and chatting with other guests. We felt so at home we almost forgot to pay the bill! Would love to go back some time and have no hesitation in recommending Tschurtschenthaler. Kicking Horse Resort nearby to Golden has a chairlift which at the top feels like you are on the very top of the mountain range. The view is truly amazing and in the guide books listed 'as the best view of the Canadian Rockies'.

Room Tip: Get a room at the front overlooking the mountains if you can.
