This was a wonderful place to stay! Brad, the owner was so accommodating as well as his staff. The rooms were clean, comfortable and homey and the breakfast was delicious! We were in the area for 6 days and this lodge was our favorite. They also offer rafting trips which we totally enjoyed! Would definitely return!

We were the from Sunday July 7th- Tuesday July 9th for the beginning of our honeymoon. I couldnt have asked for a better lodge to spend our time at. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The lodge was very clean and our room was great. The bed was so soft that I don't think I slept so well any other time. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic. The lodge was quiet and comfortable. 5 STAR!!
The rafting trip was a rush. I wanted to go right after we ended. The only downside to our rafting trip was that we had zero pictures of us going through the rapids, only shots from the beginning, middle and end.
Regardless, our start was amazing, and I will never forget our stay there, and I can't wait to go there again.

We had a very enjoyable 2-day stay at this quaint, cozy lodge/B & B! The rooms were clean, quiet and far surpassed our expectations. It is located 5 minutes from town, has amazing views of the mountains all around, beautifully kept grounds and flowerbeds with chairs and benches on the property for a quiet read or just a relaxing break in the sun. The hot breakfast that was included each morning was the best we had ever had. We were offered a nice selection of toast, fruit, yogurt, cereal, coffee and juice, as well as an egg dish that was so delicious! The staff were all very friendly and helpful as well. We will return once again for our next getaway, a weekend stay felt like a whole week off for us!! We felt like we got a great value for the price. Don't change a thing. See you next time!!

Our only motivation to book this lodge was because we were going river rafting with the Wet n Wild group and they had this lodging option on their website. The lodge also accommodates their office (think it's the same people running both). We only had to stay for a night before moving on.

Much to our surprise, we were glad to come back to a beautiful and cosy lodge after a tiring day at the river. It was so much more than what we had expected. We were 4 in a group and had booked 2 rooms. Both rooms were charming and you could see the personal touch everywhere. Old china displayed all around the lodge, beautiful old wooden chairs, cabinets.

Late evening, with not much to see or do in Golden, we spent time in their lounge and shared stories with a few interesting people. It had games and books and I think even a TV. The place was extremely quiet and peaceful, although the first impressions don't seem so since it looks to be practically on the road coming in to Golden.

We were treated to a good continental breakfast in the morning prepared by the owner himself. Everything was fresh and was constantly replenished. They have these long tables in the dining area that gives one a chance to meet other people too.

Overall, a wonderful place to stay and VERY economical! Definitely worth a stay (or more).

We stayed at the Mclaren Lodge for one night after our days rafting with Wet and Wild. The lodge was extremely characterful and comfortable. It had excellent facilities and offered a lovely breakfast.

It maybe out of the central town area but is at most only a five minute car drive away.

The average reviews do not give this lodge justice.

An excellent lodge.

The McLaren Lodge was a great find. We only found it because we were looking for rafting but would have been happy to have stayed as just a break.

The room was a nicely furnished and clean, shared tv lounge and another for breakfast.

Hope you enjoy it too.
