went on to trip advisor found great place for dec.08 in revelstoke(7 acres b&b), so tried trip advisor for jan.09 sled trip and called selkirk inn, manager said place was renovated and we would get nicest room, half price week, booked four nights. Got off night shift and drove 12 hours to golden, upon check in office was closed?, early evening 7 pm, go to room number ... for assistance. Manager charged my card full amount up front for 4 nights, no taxes etc.?, then gave key to us. We went to room and were completely disappointed, checked out laundry and hot tub area and that was it, we were leaving that dump!. Went across street and checked two hotels and explained our situation, no problem, town was very quiet lots of rooms available. We went back to selkirk inn and were very nice about asking for a refund but manager lost it and was very rude!, said i had to pay 2 nights, instead of refunding my card 2 nights, charged my card again 2 nights. In the vehicle i noticed the charge and had to go back to her room again for refund, thought about having a police officer go with me but did not, the very ignorant lady got refund sorted out, paid 2 nights to leave when accommodation guide said one night, across street both places said they wouldnt even charge any nights for not wanting to stay. Stayed at the Prestige great place!, stopped at visitor center to put in complaint about selkirk inn on the way out of town, and got letter from BC tourism shortly after, owners were suppose to write to us by feb. 13 but did not, we were not suprised. Would not recommend staying there to any one!.
