Six of us stayed in one of the chalets for two nights for $199 with a Living Social deal. The setting is absolutely gorgeous and the chalets themselves are reasonably clean and well-equipped. It is a little difficult to find coming off the highway as there are no signs (you have to follow the "Chancellor Peak Chalets" signs...more on that later).
This is not a hotel. It doesn't have a "front desk" that is always staffed. When we showed up later in the evening (meeting our friends who were already checked in) the guy at the front desk couldn't tell us what cabin we were staying in because he ran Chancellor Peak Chalets, not Kicking Horse River Chalets. He had to phone the other guy to find our cabin number. Not sure what would have happened if our friends had not already checked in... However, the staff were friendly and flexible in allowing us a late check-out.
The cabin itself was quite nice and didn't feel too small. The kitchen is reasonably well stocked with an assortment of pans, dishes and utensils. There is wifi, but we couldn't get it in our cabin. There is NO cell service and no phones provided in the rooms so you have a great excuse to unplug from the world!
If this deal were to come up again I would definitely take advantage of it. We had a great time out there.
