“Miles of flow at times challenging trails”

Moonrakers, Golden, Bc
Reviewed 24 May 2016

Moonrakers is constantly expanding with the addition of many new trails. Hymenoptera has lots of wood, rollers, table tops for the thrill seeker. Mighty Quinn has long, fun filled switchbacks and rollers and is a terrific downhill. Check out Gold Rush, Old Age and Treachery for some challenging trails with rocks, cliff sides, single track. An old stand for a great work-out on the way up and a fun filled flowy downhill is CBT. From Cedar Lake are some old favourites with lots of roots, rocks, hills, bridges, switchbacks. Moonrakers as trails for all abilities. And there is always the Super-Loop is add Mountain Shadows to the mix.

Excellent for anyone who is intermediate/advanced. This was too much for me, but I really appreciate how the Golden Cycle Club has maintained trails/maps/app.

Some of the best trails we've ever ridden.Lots of flowy trails. Would classify as intermediate. Mosquitoes are a real issue so make sure you have lots of spray.

We decided to spend the day hitting up these trails before we hit the mountain the next day. The trails are very well maintained. Great job to all the volunteers that maintain these trails, your hard work is appreciated.
We had a pretty novice rider with us and he faired pretty we'll on the blues. He did stop during some of the more root covered sections, but got the hang of it after a while. The boardwalks freaked him out a couple of times and he walked the bike across, but he did have a blast.
We loved it! A great mix of up and down, which really challenged this flatlander. The only thing that would make the trails better is numbers up with the trail names on the signposts. You have done a great job of marking the trails and ensuring we can find ourselves on the map, but we had to stop several times to make sure we were still on the right trail. The map details the numbers, but then you need to check the key for the name.
I love it when my mountain bike brings me to ridiculously beautiful places....these trails definitely do that.
Thank you for the amazing trails!

We were staying at Pallister Lodge Hotel so had to drive past Moonrakers every time we went down into Golden and so thought we'd stop and take a look, and are so very pleased that we did.
I know that it's primary trails for biking but you can also use it for hiking as well which we did and whether you use it for either you'll be treated to some absolutely stunning scenery.
Also as we were following the trail along side of Cedar Lake 4 we did encounter a beautiful black bear sitting on the trail about 40 meters infront of us, he looked at us and we looked at him and quickly took his picture then slowly retraced our steps and left him in peace.
Also a helpful tip for anyone thinking about doing this, is at the carpark there's a map of all the trails so we took a picture of this and used it to find our way back. The trails are marked but i don't think that clear especially if you're walking as in some places several trail cross and there's a number of paths you could take and so consulting the picture helped us to find exactly where we were!
