“Very clean accommodations”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 May 2014

Upon arrival it was fast and we were in our room in no time. The staff at the front desk are friendly and want to help in any way they can.

The food was actually surprisingly good. The problem in the restaurant was the service. To be honest, one waitress was pretty good and friendly, but friendliness is not the problem it is that they have so many staff and to get one of them to come over and serve you takes a lot of time. I was pretty upset watching 4 girls talking and texting on their phones as we sat there looking at all of them trying to get one of them to come over. the hotel really needs to work on that part because it is a big turn off.

The food itself was pretty good. I have had far worse and I had no complaints, which is rare for me in a restaurant.

The rooms are very clean, at least the room we stayed in was very clean. I am a very picky person when it comes to cleanliness and to see the tiles all around the bath tub shining everyday and the sheets clean etc was very nice. Thank you for that because I did not expect it from a northern hotel.

If I go to Fort St. John again you can bet I will be booking where I feel it is clean and this hotel fits that bill for sure.

Oh, and the free breakfast in the morning isn't too bad either. Quite a large selection of food and I rather enjoyed it, so no complaints.

The one thing that this hotel needs to do is work with their restaurant staff (except the blond who is originally from Vancouver) because they need to move their butts, get off their cell phones and give much better service. It makes the hotel look bad and the locals don't think highly of your restaurant because of the poor service. The girl we got the second night did tell us she was new, but she knew nothing, not even how to make a drink. Train your staff before throwing them out there. The entire time we were in the restaurant that same new girl was serving almost all the tables while the rest chatted, texted and stood there, not even looking around the room to see if customers were trying to wave them down.

Room Tip: I am hoping that our room wasn't clean because of our cleaner, but just that they are all that c...

Wow, probably one of the worst hotels we stayed at during our trip. Front desk staff were rude, we were stared at while we tried to bring in our bags, as if they were "allowing or disallowing" what we were using. Guys, it's a Quality Inn, not the Four Seasons.

Parking is an issue, not nearly enough for the property, and there was not even enough for temporary stop so I could get directions from hotel staff. Staff told my wife that there was "available parking across the street." a packed dirt lot, not even owned but the hotel. OK, all well and good, but where is the entrance to the thing? after circling for longer than necessary we took a chance. The entrance was not marked and signage indicates that some part of this at least is private property, and that you will be towed. Also the lot is right next to a homeless shelter, which could worry some about their belongings in the vehicle. (Mine was absolutely fine). While not directly the hotel's fault, I was blocked in by other vehicles necessitating 45 minutes of small careful movements, and a back up pull forward action when I was trying to leave.

Room was ok, not more than ordinary. we reserved with pets, apparently the only "Pets" they expect are "dog" (yes, in the singular) as that is all there is anything for.

Breakfast... *Sigh* yes there is breakfast, in a cute little area that looks for all the world like an actual dining experience is in store. With the staff there, the feel of "multiple Michelin stars are involved." In reality, It is the same food as almost every other hotel offering free breakfast, but with a superior attitude.

I was disappointed, and the whole experience really turned me off of the hotel and the city as a whole. I never want to go back.

First time to fort St. John , had no idea what to expect. Very friendly service, yummy afternoon cookies, clean, comfy rooms with fridge. Heating and ventilation is outdated but I'm realizing this is the morn across Canada .

Room Tip: Always choose the one up from cheapest

One of the better hotels I stay at while away for business. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean, and you are walking distance from several dinner options. A few extra touches like heated flooring, the Tuesday wine & cheese, and even the direction the cleaning service leaves the shower head at when they're finished make it a very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Corner rooms on the backside of the hotel are dark and quiet.

We stayed for the weekend while visiting family. The room was clean--loved the heated floors in the bathroom and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast offered with the room was great--full breakfast and the eating area was good. The room was a good value.

Friendly personnel, clean rooms. Not new but still in quite acceptable shape. Good breakfast. A little bit pricey. 160$ for a single room is a lot for the area. You can get a better and newer hotel for around 130$ in Fort Nelson.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on the back of the building. Those facing the street are noisy because of the heavy tr...
