End of the Road Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #2 of 5 Cranbrook B&B and Inns
Reviewed 20 November 2013

We just stopped for one night on our way through Cranbrook and had a very pleasant stay. Although it is a bit out of the way, the B & B is in a beautiful setting and is very quiet. It is very nicely decorated and well maintained. Mirka fixed us a delicious breakfast and we met some very interesting and friendly guests. We would certainly choose this for a longer stay.

We stayed here for just one night on our trip around British Columbia. Our sat nav came in extremely handy to find this B&B as it is someway out of Cranbrook. Once found never forgotten. An absolutely lovely house with a tremendous host, Mirka. The accomodation was very comfortable and we had use of the lounge which was a nice bonus. Mirka is an exceptional cook and her breakfasts are a delight. If you are going to eat in Cranbrook there are more than enough restaurants to choose from and Mirka is very helpful in assisting your choice. Going out in the dark to drive there and back needs a good memory or a good sat nav. The benefit of being out a ways from Cranbrook is that the area is extremely quiet and peaceful and has abundant wildlife in the gardens and adjoining lands.
Thanks Mirka for being a very attentive host.

My husband and I were thoroughly impressed with this B & B. It is situated in a beautiful place with a peaceful atmosphere. More than anything, it was the friendly and welcoming hospitality of the owners (including the resident dog Ari) that made the experience for us. We were in Cranbrook for a funeral, but despite the sad reason for our visit, the homey and family oriented feel of the place made our trip a positive one. Mirka is a phenomenal cook! I would most definitely come back and I highly recommend this B & B.

Mirka makes her guests feel really at home. Although the location a few kms from the centre of Cranbrook may put off some, the location is very quiet. Rooms are spotlessly clean, but more elderly guests might find the modern beds slightly too low. Rooms are not en-suite, but each room has its own bathroom. Breakfasts are excellent and Mirka cooks a mean omelette!

Recommended.

Great people, Great place, good food. The owners are super helpful, and they have a great little dog. Definitely recommended! The location is about 10 minutes out of hand, be prepared to have a GPS handy the first time you drive out there.. and watch out for the deer (they hang out on the road and in the backyard!)

The B&B is some distance from the main road, but worth the drive. You might want to use a GPS. Owners of the home were a delightful and interesting couple from Czechoslovakia. Breakfast was basically by individual order. Each room (there are three total; two up, one in the basement) had its own bathroom, but not connected to the bedroom. Nature at your fingertips -
stopping for deer crossing the road nearby to be expected.

Room Tip: Upstairs beds were not far off the floor; somewhat hard for me (age 66) to arise from.

With all the noise and light pollution of the city, and the constant flow of traffic and trucks in town, this was a magnificent choice for our overnight stay. Adding an extra night was a no brainer so we could wake up to the songs of birds, watch the animals as we ate breakfast and really feel like we were in a peaceful oasis.

Taking the extra few minutes to come up from town transforms your bland "hotel" experience into the break you need from a long drive, the everyday grind, or just life's daily stresses. You won't regret it. We will be back for sure, thank you to our wonderful hosts!!

Only drawback: the cakes were too good!! We'll have to do that mountain walk next time.

Room Tip: Choose the green room... at least we thought so. Slept like babies.
