The hotel, service and food were excellent. Golf was great and the atmosphere was very relaxing. From a historical perspective, your stay should prove to be somewhat of a humbling experience. I only hope visiting tourists can do there part in keeping alive the memory and assist in building a brighter future.

Room Tip: The rooms in the old residential school would give you a better perspective of the history of the ho...

Our foursome for golf stayed at this grand hotel. Most of our time was spent golfing at the St. Eugene course, Trickle Creek and the new Shadow Mountain courses. As this review is about St. Eugene, I would like to state that the course starters were excellent and the course was challenging and in great shape. The golf course restaurant had great service and excellent value and choices for the breakfasts and lunches we had there. The rooms were clean and above average. The casino is a great addition to passing the evening time. This is a very quiet casino therefore many of the tables are closed and the slot machines appear to be tight. But the dealers are friendly and the patrons appear to make a fun time of parting with your money (as usual). The highlight of this hotel was the food and restaurant service. Wow! we did not think of eating anywhere else. The main restaurant and the lounge restaurant are able to share similar menus since they are close together. If you do not see an item on restaurant menu they are happy to have you order off the other menu. Even though all of our servers were excellent, Leah made one of our dinners a fun time with her interactive personality. She introduced one of the boys to a Scott Baluka drink (mixture of many different liquors) and then added espresso for a drink called Quantum Leap. Thanks Leah. We were able to gain a few strokes on him the next day! As stated in previous reviews, we are from Alberta and enjoy some of the best beef in the world, and St. Eugene beef matches or betters that quality. Not to be missed! We have stayed here a few times now and intend on returning next year for their tremendous golf specials.

I attended a two day business meeting at the hotel. The meeting room was a tad small for the group, and the room temparature fluctated. The service was better than average. We had some catering over the two days - "break time" and lunch. The fruit platters were great - fruit was fresh, including fresh blackberries and blueberries. The lunch time meals were adequate.

I was at St. Eugene in September 2012 and played three rounds at the St. Eugene golf course. It is a fine course with tricky greens but a lot of fun to play even for the high handicapper (28). There is wildlife to enjoy such as coyotes and wild turkeys and gorgeous holes along the river. More importantly, the pro shop staff were wonderful -- helpful, engaging, wanting to ensure our games were the best. HIghly recommend this course. The hotel accomodation is also very good. All around, a great weekend.

Went to St.Eugene's twice this summer. The building is an older native school that has been renovated as a hotel. It is very grand looking from the front and has a sandstone appearance and beautifull landscaping. The flowers are lovely and the grounds are well maintained even from the back view where the golf course is, We stayed in the newer addition the first time and had a separate balcony with a view of the front grounds, It was nice to see the older building lit up at night. Ihe second time we stayed in the deluxe rooms in the older building with a view of the gold course. We ate at the 19th hole a few times. They have the same breakfast buffet on weekends in the Purcell Grill which is their dining room in the main building, The food was good in the Purcell Grill. If you get a table with a view of the golf course and pool. It is very relaxing to sit there, The casino also has a good cafe restaurant but is dark inside compared to the other restaurants. There is also a lounge in the main building with English food and a free pool table to use. We did 9 holes of golf and got a great deal after 5 pm which included a cart. saw some deer on the 8th hole. Also some big eared bats flying out of the belfry. They are dedicated to keeping them conserved as they are an endagered species, Look at the interpetive centre to get a sense of the history and hardship the native children who went there had to endure.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Thanks for the review! It's great to hear that you had the opportunity to try each of our restaurants and share your thoughts with other travellers. It's also nice to hear that you saw the bats in our Belfry. We take pride in conserving the endangered Townsend Big Eared Bats as they are an interesting species found only in BC.

See you on your next weekend getaway to St. Eugene!

The hotel we had stayed before, and was very good like last time. The staff there was very in tuned to your request and excited to help, and guide us, we will be going back again, didn't play golf this time but will next.

Room Tip: The dinner there was fabulous, everything was done well.

Attended wedding at hotel. Ceremony was lovely, set up on front lawn. Reception tent was very nice, lots of room for approx 180 guests. Room was clean and bright. Staff throughout hotel and casino were very friendly. Buffet breakfast didn't offer enough of a selection although it was tastey. Bar food was very good, large portions. Only complaint, that the doors to both the hallways and rooms are loud when they slam shut, as they did dozens of times during the night, some soft closures may remedy this problem.
Overall, very happy with my stay. Will use hotel again next time I'm in the area.

Room Tip: Request a room away from the elevator and hall entrance doors.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your comments and I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the wedding ceremony & reception in the Pavilion. We have taken your feedback to our maintenance team and are reviewing the options to soften the noise caused by doors, to ensure our guests aren’t disturbed during the night. Providing a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere is a top priority so thank you for bringing this to our attention.
