This was our fourth time here. The owners have outdone themselves on the new downstairs room: recliner, granite counter with undermount sink, heated towel bar, etc. But the best part is the care and friendliness of the owners--a great antidote to all the impersonal chain hotels. Oh, and the buck in the view at the window doesn't hurt either!

We stayed for one night at the ELL and were genuinely impressed at the friendly, hospitality we were greeted with.
Typically I do not enjoy staying anywhere away from home regardless of the standard of accomodation, however I felt just as comfortable in the comfy king size bed as I do in my own.
This was definatly the most plesant overnight stay I have I have experienced, Im looking forward to returning.

we were heading home from our holiday in bc and drove thru cranbrook noticing the lodge as we passed by. we stopped to eat and talked to another traveller who told us there were plenty of hotels in kimberly ,his freind told us to try the lodge as she had stayed there before. we drove to kimberly and though im not fussy i was not impressed with any curbside appeal on lodging there. back to cranbrook to the lodge we went, we got one of their last rooms and were extremely happy we did. the room was fresh and clean, with all the comfort you could wish for and then some. the wife was so impressed she wants to book a full week in this lodge in the summer of 2012.the host are some of the most pleasant people i have met in some time. job welldone guys give yourself a pat on the back.

Room Tip: book early fills fast

We have stayed overnight here three times and shortly to book a fourth. The attention to detail, such as the heated bathroom floors, is well done.

We drove through Cranbrook looking for a spot to spend the night and found this gem just by chance.
Situated right next to a bird sanctuary, the setting is picturesque and the motel matches it's setting. It's a new and attractive building with a great mini golf course included with it which will keep the kids (and adults) entertained.
The rooms have everything you could ask for and more. Spacious and immaculate with great beds and linens and some amazing, thoughtful extras.
The granite countertop and under mount sink on the kitchenette are nice but the heated tile floor in the bathroom with heated towel racks are even nicer. There is an extra deep bath tub for a nice soak if you wish and custom sourced soaps just to spoil you a bit more.
They've even provided a very good quality clock radio to get you up and going instead of the cheap ones you usually find and a thoughtful guide to Cranbrook and area so you can decide where to explore.
The owners are wonderful, friendly people making this one of those spots that we wouldn't hesitate to recommend to everyone.

We stayed here on a trip to the Canadian Rockies. Th lodge is owned by a friendly and hospitable family that make their property shine when compared to chain hotels. The lodge is at the periphery of Cranbrook. It looks like a regular motel (not really "lodgey"), with an associated mini-golf park. Our room was spacious and impeccably clean. The owner indicated that our room was part of a new addition. The bed was wonderful- a large pillowtop that was very comfortable. A large recliner provided a great place to relax. TV and internet access was good. The bathroom was a little small, but had heated floors and towel rack. Parking was available right outside the door, and the room backed up on little Elizabeth Lake. It was quiet and relaxed. I'd recommend this place highly!

Room Tip: Ask for a room by the lake!

We loved this place-it was clean, quiet, and very nicely kept. The staff made a real effort to make you feel welcome. It was nice to take a walk on the bird sanctuary grounds behind the lodge.

The decor was nice and modern, one of the nicest kitchenettes I have ever seen, dishes and kitchen supplies were all matching and good quality. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean and a real effort was made to make the place environmentally friendly. The locally made soaps in each room were a classy touch. Would stay again and highly recommend it.
