“Best experience I've ever had at a motel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2011

We arrived late from being on the road and were greeted by George. We was helpful and gave us chocolate. He also carried one of our bags to our room. The room was incredible! The beds were super comfortable, everythin was very clean, and the bathroom even had a heated tile floor. When we left the next day Geore asked us what he could do to make it better, we said nothing because it was perfect!!! I would go to Cranbrook again just to stay here.

My husband and I stayed here one night while on a road trip to BC. Our previous night was at a $400 per night resort. I was concerned that this place would seem cheap in comparison. The only thing cheap was the price. This is the cleanest room I have ever stayed in. I honestly would have believed we were the first people to stay here. The heated tile floors and towel bars in the bathroom were a real treat. I have stayed in 5 star overpriced luxury hotels that did not have this feature.
This hotel is by the highway and the train tracks but we did not hear any noise.
The kitchenette is very compact but had everything you would need and again spotless. We did not try the minigolf but it looked fun and I really enjoyed all the murals around the grounds.
I would definitly stay again and probably stay longer just to enjoy the room. Only one suggestion, I felt the bathroom was so nice but a comfy robe would have made it perfect!

We stayed here last year and loved it so much that we planned another trip this year. It did not disappoint us. We stayed in the new wing this year and it was lovely. Just like the older wing but with more sound insulation between the floors. We love the kitchen in all the units. We ate in for all our meals. The heated floor in the bathroom was a luxurious touch!! There honestly is not anything that we do not like about this place. Each day we walked around the trails by the lake. Once a deer wandered by as we walked. Elizabeth Lake Lodge is a real find. We can't imagine anyone not having a fantastic stay. The kitchens have everything you could possibly need (with the exception of salt and pepper shakers). We will definitely stay there the next time we are in Cranbrook. It is clean, quiet, comfortable and reasonably priced. No wonder it is the top hotel in Cranbrook.

The lodge is a motel style structure beside the main road and the railway BUT... all the rooms look out on Elizabeth Lake, there are delightful walkways to the lake and the rooms are surprisingly quiet. Ground floor rooms have a small deck with chairs facing the lake but upper floors only have the access balcony which faces the road and railway. Of course the upper floor is quieter so it is a trade off. The really amazing thing is the standard of the rooms and their spotless presentation, we were very impressed. The staff/owners are really nice people and the lodge boasts one of the hardest 18 hole mini-golf we have ever played. Cranbrook is not a great tourist destination it is just on the way to somewhere else but we enjoyed our stay and our time around the lake.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms have outside seating facing the lake

The only bad thing about this hotel, is that we only stayed one night! The lodge/hotel is immaculate due to being to be newly built. Room was a good size, kitchen well equipped, everything was new and tastefully done.

The lake walks behind the lodge were a nice start to the day, and the staff were excellent. They recommended a greek restaurant that was on our journey the next day, and some places to stop. They were excellent suggestions and we really enjoyed them. Tonys greek grill = yum yum!

We really enjoyed this stop on our trip, and the lodge was a big part of it

We got caught in a spring snowstorm and had to stop in Cranbrook on the way home. We were lucky to find the Elizabeth Lake Lodge. Very clean, very hospitable staff, very affordable, very convenient location. Would absolutely recommend and will stay there whenever we need a place in Cranbrook.

Elizabeth Lake Lodge isn't really a lodge, and some of the other reviews might be a bit misleading if you're expecting something like a ski chalet in the mountains. This is a motel on the edge of Cranbrook but still on the main drag. It does back on to a nature reserve, which is nice, but there are 18-wheelers zooming by the front of the lodge as well.

We had no complaints about anything. The room was large, very reasonably priced and very clean. The owners were unfailingly pleasant, and we had a great time playing the miniputt course. We also took a walk through the nature reserve and saw deer and some interesting wildfowl. But from the name Elizabeth Lake Lodge and the picture on the website, you might expect some sort of wilderness retreat, and it's nothing like that. It's a better motel run by really nice people, but it's still a motel.
