Description: The Common Ground , a family run business, is a unique experience in the heart of the Comox Valley! A 100 year old heritage home has been tastefully and creatively transformed into a warm and inviting place where you can loose yourself, be well fed, relaxed and refreshed. Wonderful artisan woodwork throughout the restaurant using reclaimed and natural materials enhances the experience. Our menu is small, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared to provide you what id getting harder and harder to find these days - true food! Nothing too fancy here, just common sense, old fashioned care in preparation and integrity in ingredients, at a price you can afford!

We were given a gift voucher to use for lunch here, and I'm so glad we were! What a great little place . Interesting decor , friendly and efficient staff and great food. We had soups ( delicious) and then my husband had a Montreal smoked meat sandwich and I had the nut and cheese salad. Yum! Will definitely return.

Very good coffee as you might expect, but excellent food also. The service was very friendly and the restaurant decor a "must see". You won't be disappointed.

“Three words for you”

Yummy....go there!

Seriously, I have eaten there several times and it is consistently delicious. Service is attentive and friendly. The decor is cozy and unique.

As another person reported, the food really "schmecks" - homey cooking at its best.

Looking forward to my next visit!

“Original decor with fantatic meals”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

I had a large cranberry salad and the ginger yam soup. These are probably my favourites from their menu. Wonderful seating and atmosphere, very personable service and attention. Gorgeous outdoor seating and always so clean.

Over the year the front gardens have really taken off and are so inviting to walk through.

“Welcoming, calming ambiance combined with great food make for a wonderful dining experience.”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

Eating at the Common Ground Cafe is more than just filling your stomach, but an experience of warm ambiance created by the rustic decor combined with homemade food that really "schmecks"!
The yam soup, the wholesome bread, and the cranberry nut salad are my favourites, but the menu is extensive enough to accommodate a wide range of tastes. The one problem is that people tend to linger over lunch in the cozy booths, so if you're looking to get in and out quickly, it might not be the right place. There's often a line-up for the noon lunch rush so go earlier or later if you want to be assured of a seat. This might change soon as I hear there is expansion planned for the near future.

The tables are all handmade with flowers buried in the glossy resin coating and the dividers between the booths are made of driftwood. If you haven't seen macramé since the 70’s, you will definitely be transported back to that era when you see the impressive wall hangings. There's nothing "old" about this place as it is clean and fresh, and the staff is very friendly.
