“Perfect for a Romantic Getaway”
Reviewed 24 November 2013

We just spent the one night here but wished we could have stayed longer. We stayed in Gabi's room. It was large and cosy at the same time. There was a fireplace (electric) an extremely comfortable bed facing the big glass doors onto an uninterrupted view of the ocean, a sofa, tv, and a large ensuite with a jacuzzi tub. There were candles placed throughout the room and around the bathtub so we could add a romantic atmosphere. Walter was an excellent host and gave us lots of advice on where to eat and places to go. The breakfast was delicious, and they even catered to our food allergies. The town of Courtenay is nearby and has some excellent crafts shopping. We would definitely come back in the summer months to enjoy the beach and garden, but winter is just as lovely.

Room Tip: I only saw Gabi's room, which is the largest, but all rooms have an uninterrupted view of the oc...

We spent two nights here and it was wonderful.Really enjoyed every single aspect of this B and B.We smiled ear to ear upon hearing Walt(the owner and host) singing in his office.Tip the dog was so well trained and smart.Stay two nights not one or else you will lose out having enough time to really appreciate this gem.

Room Tip: Walter allowed us to see all rooms, they were all perfectly great but I do suggest for a few extra d...

This property was actually my very best friend's house when we were living in the Bates Beach area and I stumbled across the B&B when researching places to stay for our trip to the island this November! Not only did it bring back wonderful memories but Walter was an absolutely excellent host. The room was perfect and clean with a direct view of the beach (where we used to canoe and catch fish) and the breakfast was superb! Definitely recommend anyone visiting the Comox Valley to make a trip here! Get out of the town, come stay on the ocean! Seal Bay park (an excellent and easy hike down to the beach) is a few minutes away and there are multiple other beaches and walks to enjoy in the area. Can't say enough - perfect location and stay! In fact, after our trip we have been insipired to move back to Courtenay area... so thanks Belle Vue!

Coming from landlocked Ontario, I really enjoyed the closeup ocean view from our room. The location could not have been better to see the sea! Our hosts were very informative with great suggestions and directions for local points of interest. Our breakfast was excellent, especially the dessert Ist option. I am very pleased with my decision to stay in this lovely home.

My wife & I planned to stay only one night before returning to Victoria but Belle Vue owners, location and house left us wishing we had planned to stay longer. We utilized our GPS to locate the B & B, which might have been a little difficult if arriving after dark if you didn't have one, but certainly not that difficult. The location is beautifully secluded and peaceful while the ocean setting is perfect for viewing nature and mountain vistas across the straights. Our hosts were absolutely charming and welcoming to their beautiful home. Our room opened on to the upper deck that allowed access to the hot tub, while providing views of the ocean as you relaxed in bed. The bathroom was spacious and well appointed while complementary drinks and snacks quenched any late night needs. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful while we were entertained by our very interesting hosts who made the experience wonderful. We love dogs and Tip and Pocos are excellent examples of what dedication to training and love can produce. We would strongly recommend Belle Vue B & B to a couple looking for a relaxing experience, wonderful hosts, a great breakfast and a pair of great dogs!

Doubtless Belle Vue verifies its name in fine weather, but during a dark and pouring winter it is also a splendid place to be. The far shore with churning cloud is magnificent; the foreshore is a natural commons, endlessly beautiful, reassuringly tranquil and a fitting frame for what transpires inside this civilized and intelligently managed B & B. The inventive and thoughtful meals are, like virtually everything about this inn, above reproach, mainly, because they are offered with genuine concern, talent and interest. Belle Vue is not easy to find, but its quiet privacy is part of its appeal and once found, there can be no doubt that the site is worth the effort to locate again and again. Haideh and Walter are excellent hosts and we are pleased to give them and their inn highest marks.

Room Tip: Rooms vary in size but are equal in quality, save for Gabi's, which has the grandest bathroom. A...

It has been a month when we spent 3 nights at Belle Vue. What a fabulous B&B. The hosts are welcoming, and we felt right at home. Even their dogs greeted us with smiles and wagging tails. The house is designed to make guests feel comfortable and at ease. Everything was provided, even a water kettle for tea in the room was very much appreciated by these tea drinkers who hate coffee flavored tea. Thoroughly enjoyed the feather bed and sleeping with the door open listened to the waves all night long.
The following morning for breakfast we had the most amazing spectacle of humpback whales frolicking just off the beach. It was simply over the top! Walter jokingly commented that he pays their wildlife well for their performances. The whales of course were a highlight, but seals, sea lions and eagles are also nothing to sneeze at.
We can highly recommend Belle Vue, even without whales.

Room Tip: All rooms are great, we stayed in the Pascha room
