The big park in the middle of the city. Great place to walk anytime of the year with flat terrain. Tall virgin forest with two ponds on the south & west side of the park. There is an outdoor pool that is used in the summer. So many picnic tables and there is always one available. Also a children's play area on the north side of the park. The perimeter trail is where most people walk. It will take you about 30 minutes to walk around the park. Squirrel's will approach you hoping that you will feed them as you walk by, just ignore them. This park is well used and feels safe to walk in.
You will enjoy your time here.

I liked the fact that there are so many large trees, trails and meadow areas. The ponds are teeming with life and the place was packed with people having picnics and having fun with each other. Swangard stadium has so much to offer and there is a large outdoor swimming pool. There is a horseshoe pit and two childrens play areas (one on each end of the park). There are tennis courts and an excellent pitch n putt golf course......something for everyone!! Parking can be done off of Imperial, Boundary, Kingsway or Patterson and is free so there is no excuse not to visit.

Central Park is easy to get to by Skytrain. Just get off at the Pattison Sky Train Station and you are right across the street from one of the entrances. Nice walking and running trails, picnic tables, benches, horseshoe pitch, pitch and putt golf, several large ponds with ducks and turtles. Lots of shade if the day is a hot one. This is a beautiful treed park that can provide hours of relaxation. Beautiful place to take a picnic lunch and enjoy the views.

I run through this park on a regular basis and my wife and I have enjoyed many hours in this park.

Central park in Burnaby is a long established natural park right in the middle of town. Great walking trails, fun playground for the kids, lots of good picnic spots with tables.

would prob not go on some of the trails had I not had my dog with me. if you do go with a friend as some of the trails can be elusive and remote.
