With the many out of town guests during this summer, I decided to try the Grand Dynasty. Since I am on a vegan-no oil diet, I was very pleased to note the many vegetarian dishes on their menu. Although many of the vegetarian dishes were deep fried or sauteed, I was able to find a few dishes for my restricted diet. The selection overall for the restaurant was great for the dim sum as well as the evening dinner.
Overall, the ambience was what made the restaurant enjoyable. The high ceiling made talking around the table once again audible for everyone. There are just far too many restaurants in Vancouver where it is getting very difficult to have a conversation over dinner. The tables were spaced apart and had very large chairs making the seating that much more enjoyable.
The staff was accomodating and even took the time to open the door for my mother in law when they spotted her entering the restaurant in a wheelchair.
We have returned for many visits during this summer. The prices in the restaurant are a little more pricey than most of the Chinese restaurants in Burnaby but well worth it.
