“Great bread, horrible meat and poor service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2012

Bread is fresh and fantastic. Meat: hard as a rock, uncooked and oh so old. Salad was fresh but tiny portion. We waited a full 70 minutes to get food coming to us, last plate came.... Yes two full hours after we were seated by which time our appetite was gone.

“only authentic Turkish food in Vancouver”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2012

My husband and I love Turkey. And we love their Iskender kebabs - but in Vancouver, Turkish food is bland - not so with Anatolia's.

They have cherry juice from Turkey, aryan, and the best most unfatty iskender kebabs.

We do not live in Burnaby but we go to Anatolia's often and it is worth the bus ride and metro for us.

The staff are kind - they are all old friends from Turkey - and each time it feels like going home.

Best secret place in the GVRD.

“Never been to Turkey, but this food makes me feel like I have!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2012

The location is in a strip mall-type setting, but don't let that stop you. The food is varied & delicious. A huge lavash bread (white or whole wheat) with dip arrives as an appetizer. Main courses consist of beef and lamb (halal of course) in combination with roasted veggies. Try thé yogurt drink or thé tea. And leave room for dessert.

“Great Comfort Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 March 2012

Food was tasty, bubbling hot with unique blend of spices, really liked the lavash bread. Staff were busy and working hard but could have been a bit friendlier and more talkative. Decor reflects the Turkish background of the restaurant which I liked and to make it even better, perhaps they could warm it up a bit decor-wise as it felt a bit cold/sterile.

“Aaaah... a true taste of Turkish cuisine!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 January 2012

I am scared to write a review about this place... because I consider it a well kept secret. But, I know that the restaurant business is tough and would like to give a shout-out to the great guys who own this place. What a gem!! This truly is a cozy little hole-in-the-wall kind of place that serves up amazing food. True Turkish cuisine... from the bread ... to the coffee.. to the Iskender kabab and dessert! Great menu with a lot of choices.
Even if you have never had true Turkish food you should still give this place a try. They only have seats for about about 35-40 people... and it can fill up. If you don't know what to order then they have some great mixed plates that offer up a bit of everything.
Prices are great too!!
