“It was fine”
Reviewed 21 February 2014

We stayed for one day. It was fine. The room was a little noisy with a heater or AC hanging out side of the room window. I could not sleep well. So we just stayed for one day. No dining room for breakfast.....But the staff has been very friendly and helpful.

Stayed here for a business trip. Had a very comfortable stay and free breakfast and free wifi are nice add-ons. Great staff make it better. Recently upgraded property. Now will stay here every time in town. Would recommend to others. Good prices and very good and clean rooms.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back have mountain view (3rd floor)

Stayed there while at apprentice training at bcit. Skytrain was a quick bus that ran every 8 min from just down the street, and when returning late wasn't too far to walk from skytrain. Staff were very nice and helpful. Laundry facilities on sight helped for longer stay. Quiet neighborhood and hotel.

I had a very pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and helpful and during my 4-night stay no problems occured. The place is simple but nice and great for the price. There are a few restaurants in walking distance that also do delivery and a 711 around the corner as well.

We recently stayed at this hotel for 3 nights; we had 2 rooms (1 double for my sister and me and 1 smoking room for my mom). Upon check in we noted everything about the hotel was very tired, worn out and shabby. I had read other reviews about the rooms being clean and comfortable but, obviously, our standards are somewhat different than the other reviewers. When you turned the water on at our bathroom sink the floor would immediately get wet because the connection under the sink was leaking. Our TV didn't work. Housekeeping wasn't stellar - we spilled a little red wine on the night table our first night there and it was still there 3 days later when we checked out. However, we could have overlooked all of that had it not been for the bed bugs and the way the staff responded to this concern. My mom found a bed bug in her bed the morning after we checked in; the staff responded fairly quickly. Once we took the bed bug down to the front desk, they "cooked" her room to kill the bugs and moved her into a different room. My sister and I tore our beds apart looking for signs of bed bugs but couldn't find any. We hoped the problem was contained to the original smoking room. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Our third morning there (the day we checked out) my mom and I both woke up with bed bug bites. Keep in mind, this was my mom's second room so, in total, we had been in 3 rooms and ALL 3 rooms had bed bugs. Upon check out the staff planned to charge us full price. When I queried this the hotel clerk asked what I wanted - I said I didn't know what would be considered appropriate but it would be nice to have some compensation given we had bed bugs in all of our rooms and now had to deal with the inconvenience of taking precautions so as not to bring the bed bugs home with us. She checked with management and they saw fit to "credit" our account with 1 nights charge on one room. We had 2 rooms at 3 nights; all with bed bugs, and they thought not charging us for one night would be compensatory. Upon arriving home I read on several websites that a decent/good hotel should not charge you for any nights spent in the company of bed bugs. I contacted the head office of this hotel (6 days ago) to advise of same but, have not heard back from them. I assume this means they don't view bed bugs as a problem for their guests. It's disappointing that a problem as concerning as bed bugs is not taken a little more seriously by this hotel. We took extensive precautions arriving home to prevent any spread and, luckily, seemed to have left the bed bugs back at the Happy Day Inn.

Room Tip: Unless you want to share your bed with some bugs I would suggest booking elsewhere.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. Close to bus service, we stayed there at the end of August while we attended the PNE. Beds were fairly comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. Metrotown and other businesses were close by. It was kind of off the beaten path but still close to all amenities.

Clean comfortable quiet room. Bus service across the street, takes you directly to the Edmonds Skytrain station. Breakfast was Tim Horton's coffee, muffins, and orange juice; it gets you going, what more do you need? White Spot 10 minute? cab ride away. Would have rated sleep quality as excellent but the bed was firm and I like something softer, just personal opinion. Pillows were great and so were the towels. EXCELLENT staff!

Room Tip: Room 204 was dead quiet, above the parking lot. Hotel is at edge of residential neighbourhood so wou...
