Stayed at the Days Inn and Suites Strathmore during the Calgary Stampede in July and was extremely happy with the decision. It was priced much lower than any of the hotels in Calgary, especially for the quality you are getting; plus it was only about 20-25 mins from Stampede Park. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the rooms were large, clean, and comfortable.
As previously mentioned, the hotel's at a great location. It's about 20-25 minutes from Calgary, and about an hour from the Drumheller Badlands and the Royal Tyrell Museum (definitely worth a visit, especially for families). Not a lot of traffic...and it's a shopping center over from a Walmart, if you need to pick anything up. There are also restaurants close by; the Strathmore Station Restaurant is where we ate. The food there is excellent and again, it's only a few streets down.
The breakfast at the hotel was great, it was buffet-style, with a large choice of food. We were also able to use the business center for free, although the internet was kind of slow.
The area's not particularly pretty, it's kind of a strip mall alley, so don't come for the views, but it's getting 5 from me because despite that, I was so pleasantly surprised and the stay was so enjoyable that I could have spent a week here and been happy.
Clean, front desk person Gail, very friendly and helpful. This is a fairly new Days Inn. Hot breakfast in the morning, eggs, potatoes, sausages,,juice, coffee, pancakes, and or make your own waffles. Clean rooms, great shower, large bathroom, very comfortable beds. The lobby is very welcoming, with large wood beams, stone fireplaces, and heavy, good furniture
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our property. Gail is a fan favourite around here and she will be happy to see your comments. We make every effort to make guests feel welcome at our hotel, from our decor to our smiles :) We hope you had a Merry Christmas and wish you the best in 2014.
