While we were hoping for more, this was still a beautiful place. As with many places of natural beauty, we are in danger of losing these because of the actions of a few or Mother Nature herself. Take the time if you can to see how the land can shape itself. You won't be disappointed.

Drumheller is all about dinosaurs and hoodoos, so it was a little disappointing to finally visit the hoodoos and feel underwhelmed. They're very small for what I imagined and there aren't very many to look at. The smart thing is they have fenced the area and added stairs to protect the hoodoos that remain. You can get close, but not as close as you might think. The more exciting part for me was exploring the area behind the hoodoos. It had just rained before we got there so the ground was VERY slick.
It's worth a look, but don't anticipate that this stop will take up the whole day. 20 minutes is plenty of time.

The photos online look amazing, not sure what happen but they were pretty dissapointing. Someone said they bull dozed a lot of them to make the road? we were expecting much more, but there was very little, maybe a 10 min stop to look at them.....

Quite close to Drumheller and on the way to the Atlas Coal Mine, very interesting to walk around and explore.
