We love this museum we always learn something new, it is clean and organized staff is ok, usually really helpful and friendly! We try to go once a year and never regret it! The cafeteria food is good and even made a special hamburger with bun and fries for my sister who is celiac!! Love this place more every time we go!

“Royal Tyrrel Museum Doesn't disappoint”
Reviewed 29 October 2013

I went to Royal Tyrrel Museum few years ago. This year we took our 7 year old and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Take your time, there is lots of information presented if you are interested like me and of course, lots of Dinosaurs for kids to see. Loved the Hadrosaurus and T- Rex. They have staff on site who are working on some exhibits so you can talk to them and ask questions. I found the museum easy to navigate, educational and enjoyable. If you visiting Calgary, its definitely worth the trip. Also, don't miss the Hoodoos not far from the town.

“Step Back in Time”
Reviewed 26 October 2013

This is the 2nd time we have visited this museum within 2 years. The exhibits & special features are always changing as new discoveries are being uncovered. To absorb the scope & size of these fossils, to sit & soak it all in, imagine running away from these creatures or creating ways to NOT become a meal will take a couple of hours. Let your mind be creative.
After exhausting your thoughts, recharge at the cafeteria, located beside the admission desk.
At the end of September the Alberta Cultural Society opens all the doors throughout the province to free admission. This promotes the provincial Art Galleries & Museums to the public. It would be terrific if more provinces jumped on board to showcase their assets.

“Beautiful Museum”
Reviewed 25 October 2013

Made the trek out to the Royal Tyrell Museum when I was onroute from Medicine Hat to Red Deer with my family. They have lots of parking and was inexpensive for the type of museum it is. The displays are beautiful and the exhibits are well laid out. There were lots of staff moving about should you have questions. We moved through at a leisurely pace and it took about 2 hours. There is a cafeteria but we didn't use it and the gift shop is well stocked with trinkets you can buy to prove to others you were there. :)
One of my favorite areas was actually being able to watch people working on cleaning away debris, felt like something out of Jurassic Park. Outside, you can climb through the hills on trails with beautiful vistas. Drumheller is a quaint little town and deserves to be visited.
