Arriving by speedboat, they will drop you off directly on the beach of Sivalai resort, a true paradise, which offer a beautiful scenery as well as a very relaxing environment. Here the staff will great you with a friendly smile and refreshments before showing you to one of their fantastic bungalows located directly on the beach. The only draw-back of this otherwise fantastic resort is the restaurant, which is too expensive in relationship to the food they are serving.

Room Tip: Choose the superior beck bungalows.

We spent 3 days at the Sivalai from 6-9 th march 2014 during our travels touring the Islands and were up graded to a very large Family Bungalow, at the far end of the resort.

The accommodation was spacious and very well maintained with easy access to the local village, and a short walk down a fantastic beach to the resort centre.

The resort is situated at the end of the island, with white sandy beaches on both sides. providing us with plenty of sports and a small pool.

Breakfast was plenty and runs from 0700-1000hrs each day, the restaurant provided excellent meals and value for money speacial nights.

The staff were very curtious, and worked hard to maintain a excellent standard of service, the beaches were cleaned daily and there was plent of space to enjoy the best parts of the resort .

We witnessed a beach wedding taking place and noted that it was an ideal location to get married , and that the resort did an outstanding service to make the couples day.

If you are looking for a good deal on a trip or a transfer walk down to Mr Yongs at the end of the beach near the pier , he wont disapoint you.

If you are looking for a beautiful beach with white sand and excellent swimming look no further than Sivalai

Room Tip: Beach front on the pier side close to the resort

We stayed with our 2 young kids ( 7 and 9 ) at Sivalai and had a blast ! I mustn’t forget to include our travel agents at Andaman adventures, who got us this stunning room at the resort, and for recommending it in the first place ! The nature here is paradise-like, and the resort is comfortable, luxurious ( almost all other resorts here are rather rustic, back to basics style )
The resort is well maintained, clean, and the staff was always friendly ( service sometimes on the slow side, but that is island life for you  We were very happy and in fact hope to return quite soon!

having read reviews of sivalai before arriving i was a bit unsure what to expect, but i would find it difficult to express the absolute beauty of the place we arrived to.
This was a special holiday and sivalai was the pinnacle for us. from the moment we arrived in a long tail boat upon the beach to the second we left i absolutely loved the place. You are greeted with drinks and a cold towel and the nicest staff to welcome you, we were taken to our seaview villa by a receptionist and shown everything and explained how to book massages, room service, restaurants etc. this was truly the best service ive ever had in a hotel and ive travelled all over the world.

the view from the villa is OUTSTANDING, waking up to see the sea metres away from your bed is such an incredible start to the day. the villas are so comfy with all the creature comforts you need. not one mossie bite the whole time. One of the best things for us was the food, i am gobsmacked that people didnt like it in other posts, i can only assume they were commenting on the european food, the thai/asian food was the best i had, and we went on to singapore and Kuala Lumpar after this trip, and ive been in malaysia various times over the last few years. the drinks are good, i loved the cocktails. prices are very reasonable. the Thai massage was great highly recommended!! the staff were fantastic, the restaurant staff, drinks on the beach, house keepers etc, so nice and friendly. Reception organised our transfers away no problem and were doing so for lots of other people.

I would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone, it is definitely a couples place, and its all about relaxation, dont come here if you want to party all night. its about relaxation, good food, spectacular views and spending time with your partner. I spent hours staring out at the sea its mesmerising!!! I got engaged at Sivalai, and i couldnt have imagined a more perfect place to do it, we are now booking our honeymoon there for next year as we loved it so much. I cried when we left as i didnt want to leave!! i would go back tomorrow if i could but i'll have to wait a while. this really is a slice of paradise and i couldnt fault it at all. counting the days till we return!!! This might sound a bit gushing but its hard not too after such a wonderful stay!

Room Tip: choose a sea view villa on the side of the beach where the sun rises, you wont regret it!!!

This resort has a fantastic location, incredibly well appointed rooms and extremely friendly and efficient staff - BUT
The food is poor- overpriced and poor quality of ingredients. The coffee is for a motel bedside and is frankly undrinkable by anyone with a discerning palate.
Alternatively meals can be taken at a variety of local restaurants in the local village, 5 mins walk away, for a fifth of the price and superior quality.
Disgracefully, the management of Sivalai have posted a misleading, unsubstantiated and frankly libelous warning about food poisoning at village restaurants.- SMAME ON YOU SIVALAI!
Whilst iternet access is available sitting in reception it is not available in rooms. Thus a stay of longer than 24 hours becomes problematic with no communication and only 5 channels of Thai language terrestrial TV.
It is also worth noting that the hotel do not mention the incredibly strong tidal currents on the north side beach - strong swimmers struggle to make headway - a child would soon be long gone out to sea!!!
Oh and don't forget the 20% service add- on for everything!
There is no beach side bar - a shame in such a great location. And the cocktails from the restaurant are substandard. However there is a lovely cocktail bar in the village (Farm Ville) in a garden with great mood lighting and a true pro mixing the drinks.
Perhaps it is the quality and taste of the clientele who are happy to put up with such disappointments which allows Sivalai to prosper?- We didn't stay long enough to find out!

Let you know that service charge at Sivalai is 10%, not 20% as you wrote in the review. Most of hotels in Thailand add service charge 10% and VAT 7%.
The price of food in the village can't compare to Sivalai due to service and location.

The location of the resort is absolutely amazing and the villas are very nice with lovely décor. We stayed for 3 nights in a beach front villa with terrific sea view and the outside terrace with private sun beds is huge and very inviting.
However, the beds were extremely hard and the air con so loud and you couldn’t prevent the cold wind from blowing at you during the night, and it was too hot not to have the air con on. That was a huge disadvantage and resulted in back pains.

The beach is great with lovely white sand and the water perfect for swimming. But that’s only the situation until noon. Then the tide gets low and there is so much seaweed that you can’t really go swimming unless when you want to walk through all the seaweed out to the deeper and not so inviting water. We were really disappointed about that and wonder why this location has been chosen? Yes it is a stunning location on the tip of the island, but part of the experience should be the ability to go swimming especially during the hot afternoons.

The resort is too big for our likely – now 48 villas and they are expanding. This means that you can stay in a villa which is quite far away from the pool and restaurant. It is definitely a resort which is dominated by Scandinavian families. There are a lot of children.

The restaurant is lacking atmosphere and a more cozy setting. It seems more like a cafeteria with very hard and uncomfortable chairs. It doesn’t appeal to you to stay a bit longer for a drink or coffee, just eat and get out.
Breakfast buffet – a lot to choose from, freshly baked bread, fruit, a variety of hot dishes and much more.
Lunch and dinner – the food was pretty good and the seafood BBQ that was offered one evening very tasty. The ice cream is also really good. We opted for room service one evening, because of the not inviting restaurant. We ordered a variety of Thai appetizers and one noddle dish, very delicious and it was delivered fast, warm and later they came and picked up the dishes – very good and efficient service.

The resort could definitely use a lounge, chill out area or a more inviting bar with comfortable sitting options where you could enjoy a cocktail, ice cream, coffee etc.

Room Tip: Choose a villa with sea view in the front row.

The hotel is beautiful, clean, nice staff, but poor swimming at low tide, beach flies that cause unpleasant itchy pimples on our overall hotel or island did a great impression, appealed to us more Koh Ngai,Sivalai expensive services recommend an inexpensive restaurant near the resort Boon Chu Cuisia

Room Tip: We had a room in the back at the pier, away for breakfast and swimming at the top
