“Lovely Cottage - Great Location”
Reviewed 27 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

This is a really nice cottage in the heart of rural Mid-Suffolk - and is thoroughly recommended.

It has been converted from an old farm building and has been really well thought out - offering comfortable and quite spacious accomodation with a classic country cottage feel - yet with all necesary appliances and a well equipped kitchen so that you self cater and keep on top of holiday washing as much or as little as you want.

It is set on a working farm but the on-going activities are not intrusive and the cottage has it's own semi-private patio and sizeable lawn area for just sitting and relaxing - or playing games if you are so inclined. There is a BBQ available for guest use if you want and the welcome pack of eggs, milk, home-cooked bread/cakes, and preserves is a nice touch from the friendly and helpful owners.
It is probably about two hundred yards from the main road and is neatly tucked away in a tree lined area so can feel very peaceful.

It is located close to the village centre (10-15 minutes walk depending on your pace) which offers a number of local shops including butchers, bakery and convenience store as well two nice pubs and new cafe/coffee shop. On the way to the vilage you will also pass a very nice public swimming pool and finess centre which is offers a great option extremely close at hand - the pool provides sessions for all age groups and has good opening times.

Looking further afield the area is blessed with numerous places of interest, family attractions, wildlife reserves, forest parks and some wonderful coastal resorts/locations so there is literally something for everyone to explore within comfortable travelling distance from the cottage whose location close to the Norfolk/Suffolk border is about as good as you can get to cover the whole region.

All in all a great base for anyone to relax/explore - and enjoy a nice holiday.

“Cosy, comfortable and highly recommended.”
Reviewed 1 May 2017 for a stay in April 2017

This lovely cottage is located at the end of a long and pretty, tree lined drive. There is a little patio and a large lawn surrounded by beautiful mature trees. Although the cottage is on a working farm it was extremely quiet the whole time we were there.

The cottage itself is cosy, comfortable and well equipped. The central hearing is very effective and we were able to control it to suit our needs (this is not always the case in self catering cottages).

Charmaine and Robert, the owners, are very friendly and welcoming. Charmaine greeted us with home made bread, cakes and jam (what a treat) and had stocked the fridge with milk, butter and eggs.

We were in the area for only a few days but would certainly stay at Cornhouse Cottage again.

“Very welcoming, clean and comfortable cottage.”

Cornhouse Cottage is perfectly situated for exploring the countryside of Suffolk while also being a short drive from Norwich. Our host Charmaine was very welcoming and friendly - she'd even baked a loaf for us and left some home-made cookies out too. The cottage was perfect for our family of five, with a large well-equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge and beautiful bedrooms with great beds. Everything was spotlessly clean and the quiet, rural setting down a long drive on a working farm was lovely. Highly recommended.

“Lovely, peaceful Suffolk retreat”
Reviewed 10 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed at Charmaine and Robert's lovely farm over the half term break with my 96 year old father-in-law and found it to be well equipped, very comfortable and spacious. It is well located for day trips to the coast or to local towns. We were on a short break and visited Southwold and Aldburgh for a day, which was great.

The farm is set in a quiet location, yet close to everything you may need at Stradbroke, including the Ivy House Pub, whose home cooked food we very much enjoyed one evening. The local Spar is well stocked for self-catering.

Charmaine provided homemade cakes, milk, a homemade loaf, cereals, eggs, tea, sugar and coffee, which made it feel more like a B&B than self catering! They also came up trumps with an external connection for our electric car, which meant that we were able to recharge overnight. Our hosts could not have been more welcoming and we can highly recommend staying at Cornhouse Cottage if you enjoy hearing the birds, seeing rare wildlife and chilling out.

“Warm and welcoming”
Reviewed 1 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This cottage afforded us a comfortable base for visiting family in Suffolk. The owners were very friendly, and the freshly baked bread, cakes and other provisions were gratefully received! The setting was peaceful and the cottage itself had everything we needed, including character.

“Delightful accommodation”
Reviewed 10 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Very enjoyable stay at Cornhouse cottage,
Lovely homely accommodation stocked up with lots of goodies (the cakes were delicious!)
Charmaine and Robert were nearby if we needed anything .
Although it was a working farm it was very quiet and very peaceful.
The accommodation is situated within easy reach of Diss, Southwold (our favourite),Snape Bury st Edmunds and also several National trust properties and reserves.
After a day out it was lovely to return to the cosy cottage.
We enjoyed it so much we hope to return in 2016

Liked best: The cakes ! And the comfortable beds
Liked least: The wi fi was very limited. Would have like a bed guard on the single bed, as predicted my 8year old son rolled out of bed!! No harm done though !!

“Lovely cottage in a beautiful location”

Myself, my husband and two adult daughters enjoyed a short stay in this very well-equipped and comfortable cottage. We loved the old beams and decor and immediately felt at home. Charmaine and Robert gave us a very warm welcome and it was an added bonus to have some basics provided (eggs, millk, butter) as well as freshly baked rolls and rice crispie squares! The cottage is adjacent to the farmhouse in a very peaceful location. We only wish we could have stayed longer.
