Beautiful self catering property in a friendly village, with charming, helpful owners, who went out of their way- nothing was too much trouble, even waiting for an urgent delivery. Diana is absolutely charming and Jan a great host too.

Cottage spotless and well equipped, even the kitchen in a cupboard was manageable for a four week stay. Beds comfortable, shower a real treat . The garden a delight even during a cold wet spring time, it would be an absolute joy in summer

We have just returned from a lovely, relaxing weekend at Buttslade House and we loved every minute! Diana was so friendly and wanted to make sure our stay was perfect. She even rang us in advance to warn us about the bad snow in the area and to make sure that we were equipped with wellies and walking boots! We stayed in the Garden room- a gorgeous, clean and bright room overlooking the beautiful gardens. We were welcomed with fresh tea/ coffee and recently baked cakes she then happily told us about the area and the best places to visit. The breakfast the following morning was delicious, with many options to suit whatever we fancied, offered at a time to suit us. We loved the whole weekend and were sad to leave. We will definitely be returning soon and recommending it to friends and family!

We chose Buttslade House from the Alastair Sawdays Special Places to Stay, and how right he is! This is such a beautiful, unspoilt location with thatched roof cottages up the road and a really good eaterie next door. We slept really well in a comfortable bed in the Garden Room. (The garden is absolutely gorgeous). It is a peaceful, tranquil home and we will definitely be back.

My wife and I have just spent three enjoyable nights here. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfasts superb. Diana is very friendly and helpful whether you are asking about the house or where to visit locally. The gardens are brimming with plants, if a little unseasonably wet for this time if year. We would be happy to return here if we are staying in the area again.

A wonderful place to spend your (days and) nights in! An (honest) warm welcome from the couple running it while their daughter was away on holidays. Nothing was ever a problem, all we heard was "yes", "yes" and "yes" - what an exceptional treat! There's a seemingly endless garden full of flowers and fruit trees and quaint little spots to sit and while away the hours. Probably the best breakfast we've had in a B&B - with all choices you can imagine. The garden and beam rooms we and my parents stayed in were comfortable and cosy. Can't say enough good things about Buttslade House - if only more B&B's were like this!

Room Tip: The Garden Room and The Beam Room were both excellent. The Garden Room is probably a bit bigger and has a tub rather than just a shower.
