Cantina like food, no twist ,not much flavor and same sauces and offerings everyday, dinner served too lukewarm . Good service except they serve you water at the table before you arrive and I could see the lady did not want to go back to the kitchen to get me another when asked since she went in search of an empty seat somewhere else so she could give me an already poured glass!

Thank eisette

Worst buffet breakfast since Darien Lake (if you've ever eaten there, you'll understand, if you haven't, don't!). We were served warm (not hot) coffee after being seated, thence had to flag down the waiter/busboy who's main job is to serve coffee! As for the buffet, the offerings were liquidy scrambled eggs, half-heated "ready-crisp" bacon, soggy frozen home fries and prancakes with table (not maple) syrup. The fruits available were over-ripe bananas (perfect for making banana bread, but not for eating!), canned fruits & the usual melon chunks. There is only one toaster for the entire restaurant, so you have to line up. The cereal dispensers have seen better days.

For some reason, we thought dinner would be different. We were celebrating my parents 50th, so didn't mind spending the money. What a mistake! We all took the Table d'Hote. Though the appetizers were good, the main courses were not. Most of us had the veal Marsala (which means those at the next table didn't get any, since the restaurant ran out!). They were the lucky ones, as the veal was tougher than rawhide! Others had the beef "tenderloin", which was in fact a strip loin, the duck, which wasn't bad and the scallops were few & far between. The dessert selection was limited and of store-bought quality (what the heck is a lemon-cheese torte!?). Although the restaurant was near empty, the waiter still managed to forget to serve our bread rolls, one main course and one dessert! I spoke with the Maitre D', who said he'd "do something". Essentially charged us $5 for one of the meal that came late (why not just delete it?)! All in all, a disappointing experience and, needless to say, we won't be back.

Hotel Chantelcer has been known for many years as a popular destination for weekend escapades with sumptuous meals in its bright restaurant, bar or terrace overlooking the mountain and lake, while skiers speed downhill in front of the windows. this is why I gave it a 5 rating for atmosphere.

Evening Table d’hôte meals including soup and desert starting at $29.95. The service is cheerful, warm and friendly. Bread rolls, butter and cold water with a slice of lemon are served upon seating. The soup is served hot and delicious, the pasta cooked al-dente, and the beautifully decorated desert is as good as the rest of the meal, so keep space for it! If you go for Sunday brunch ($23.95 pp) which includes hot & cold buffet, desert tables, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. It would be a good idea to reserve ahead of time!
