“poor cancellation policy”

I had recently booked a one night stay at this hotel and was unable to use it due to health reasons, as I only called the day prior, they billed me $50 as a cancellation charge. This policy had not been explained to me before, I am not happy and will not be going there ever again.

Hotel Mont Gabriel affords wonderful views of nearby Saint Sauveur, especially at night. It is a comfortable, clean and relaxing place at a reasonable rate. The property is showing signs of wear but is in the process of renovation. We greatly enjoyed the poolside café and the dining room. Both the food and the service were good. The nearby golf course is very challenging but fun to play.

Room Tip: Stay in the Tyrol section and ask for a room on an upper floor.

This is the first time I've been back to this hotel in over forty years. Imagine that, forty years. Thankfully, I didn't find my comb under the bed. What I did find was a decent room for a decent price. My "rustic" room was clean - although they just put silicone in the bathroom and it was still gassing off. The room itself had a fantastic view of some broken air conditioning units for the lobby and a roof that needed some work. Aesthetics aside, the room was clean and had some character. I haven't seen a television set like that since my last visit, but it worked, well, it sort of worked.

We are enjoyed are stay. The hotel and the area was beautiful and service was was great. However, there was a safety concern that was not taken care of. Our door would not open without really pulling on it. We called the front desk and the repairman came very quickly. He showed us a trick to get it open. He even had us practice. He said all the rooms were like that so no use in trading rooms. But if there were ever a fire this would not be good. I do wish I made it more of an issue at the front desk. I guess it I was please with how beautiful it all was. So if you stay here and you have the same experience with the door. Insist loudly on another room . But loved the Hotel

We stayed here over March Break and were enchanted by the whole region. Our room was in the rustic section...down the hall and up an old staircase. The room and bathroom were spotless, beds were super-comfortable, and the wood fireplace was nice (self-burning "log" provided). There were dormer windows, and outside on the roof, snow had piled up 3/4 of the way. Felt like we were staying in someone's home rather than a hotel! Our only complaint is that we heard really, really loud music playing all through the night from somewhere below our room (bar?? Someone's room??) and it affected a good night's rest. At 7am it was still going. (what do you do at 3, 4 and 5 am when you hear loud music? Call the front desk and wake everyone up in the room or tough it out?) But because the room itself was so great and the pool area was as well (albeit a bit too chilly for this mama!) we give the place a four out of five.

I was at Hotel Mont-Gabriel twice this winter and each time we had a great time. The service is excellent and everybody was well treated. Perfect for skiing or any winter activities.
I wwill go back next year.

I coordinated a 3 days group meeting for 130 persons at Mont Gabriel, and it was a great success. The hotel’s staff was very professional and made us feel very confident that we will receive the best services.
Veronique Plouffe, the Sales Manager, handled our request in the most professional way. She was fast and efficient in answering all our E mails and phone calls.
The coordination of our event was handled by Julien Boucherat who is very pleasant, professional, and detail oriented. It was a pleasure dealing with him.
The final details concerning the brunch in the dining room were handled by Julien Maisonneuve in a very smooth way that made it very easy for us to relax and have a good time. He was very accommodating, calm, and very quick to understand our group’s various needs.
Isabelle, from the reservations department was very patient with our different requests, and she was fast, efficient, and always in control.
I would also like to command the dining room staff for their services, and their efforts to cater to all of our needs. We missed dealing with Roger this year, but had the pleasure of dealing with the other members of his staff.
We heard excellent comments about the brunch. We would like to congratulate the chef and his staff for the wonderful brunch they did for our group. The variety was delicious, and the quantities were very reasonable.
Martin, The person responsible for our hall was always available and on time with our coffee breaks. He was very friendly, and always willing to help.
We were greeted by the wonderful reception staff, and the whole group commented on their radiant smile and their sense of professionalism.
Most of our group members are professionals occupying high positions in different companies. They were all very happy with the hotel and services, and they all said that they will definitely recommend this property to their respective companies for future events.
The hotel truly exceeded my expectations, and I reserved them again for our next event.
