“lovely place - don't be scared by the biased reviews”
Reviewed 4 August 2012

Went here for my one year anniversary with my husband. I was really nervous about going because of all the reviews. I bought a deal find so i couldn't get a refund so we went anyways. After reading all these reviews I came prepared with earplugs, my own pillow and sheets and low expectations.

These reviews HAVE to be biased. Of course it is not a 5 star hotel, but you would be a fool to presume it would be. Look at their website: it looks like a rustic, quaint and charming type Inn, which is what it is. Obviously a 5 star hotel would have a better website than theirs. Their pictures are completely accurate. It shows the rooms as being somewhat darker and rustic. The pool was fine, the outdoor jacuzzi was fine. The food was actually wonderful! And all the staff we dealt with her great.

Yes they do add lots of fees at the end, but they are not unusual. Tax, gst etc. everyone pays that everywhere, the only difference here is that you pay it at the end. 15% service fee, sure it might be a little steep, but this is definitely not the only place i have been to that does this and they clearly mention it on their site and even at the front desk when we checked it.

The only flaws i agree with are: the walls are a bit thin. It is not atrocious but it is similar to being in an old home. While we couldn't hear anyone in the room beside us, we could hear the couple on the floor above us walking around and we could faintly hear their voices. Obviously not ideal, but not the end of the world. Also, we got the massages. They were ok but I like really hard massages and these were more delicate some massages and full body massages. I would have preferred her just stay on my shoulders but she said it had to be a full body. So it was ok. All in all it was exactly what it said it would be. Maybe the price is a bit too steep, but I also don't have a lot of money so maybe I just think that.

Other than that, the food was super, the grounds were lovely, it was a very short drive from Mont Saint Sauveur which is where we were headed, the staff were lovely, and the orange juice was perfect! (Another review even complained about that). Our private jaccuzi was AWESOME! and had lots of hot water. You could comfortably fit 3 people in there (not that we did, but that's just how big it is). Our bed and pillows were SUPER comfy, and usually i am a stickler about that. Sheets were very clean.

I would advise you not to read all of these reviews. They must be biased, i just can't understand them. I read them all, including the one about bed bugs, and was so upset before going up. I also had reoccurring nightmares about bed bugs while I was there, but needless to say there were no bed bugs. Bed bugs is something that is brought from an outside person, so they COULD show up anywhere. However, all the other people there were older couples; not the type of people to bring in bed bugs.

I do not believe these reviews are unbiased. I wouldn't even be surprised if many of them came from competing inns.

Room Tip: The jacuzzi is a WONDERFUL extra touch. -a room of the top floor will be less noisy.

We stayed one night in the Hotel. I was wondering why the reviews were so extreme from very good to very bad. Now I know! The welcome was great, nice owner at the entrance and warm welcome. We had a room with double spa bath (plenty of hot water!) and fireplace that made a difference for a small price. The decor is rustic but ok when you want this kind of place. Bathroom is clean. The walls are not soundproof so expect to hear people talking in the adjacent rooms. The mattres was incredibly comfortableThe supper was inequal. The soup was ok, salad tasting very good but not attractive. The main course, meat was great and cooked to our liking. The vegetables and pasta to accompany (all the same for all the meals) were tasteless. The massage was great!. Breakfast was very good but the orange juice was from a can and there was wayyyyyyy to much water. Basically we had orange water ;). The inequality in the overall experience helps understand why the reviews are so different. If you are looking for a very quiet place., it might not be the place although the rooms are cozy, the food can be inequal too. An overall nice experience but some work could be done to improve the food and the experience would great.

Room Tip: If you can get a room that is not close to the road it would be quieter

In Quebec, in winter you need a heater but in the bathroom of room 311 the radiator is cracked (frost damage by the look of it) and could not have been working for a long time. The room itself is a bit seedy, it has seen better days and it was also cold. The fireplace cannot be used, according to the staff, so we could not light a fire. The hotel lounge and dining room are cosy and the staff are nice. All in all, we were cold and a little disappointed. No return visit.

Stayed 1 night in December 2011. Found the place quite Cozy. Staff was friendly, owner was present and helpful. Had the massage and it was great! Do not expect full luxury or soundproof walls. Overall quite comfortable. Price was very decent with the specials available.

The Hotel Alpine was exactly as I imagined. A beautiful, little, rustic getaway in Ste-Adele. Our room was a standard room - king size bed, TV, comfy chairs and a small but very clean washroom. The food was superb. Excellent dinner, friendly people - and the staff were very accommodating. The Hotel Alpine is a wonderful, quiet little place in amongst the fir trees. I would definitely go there again. If one is looking for a five-star hotel with flat screen tv's, exceptional wireless and internet connection, then the Hotel Alpine may not be where they should go. If one is looking for quiet away from all the technology, then this beautiful little inn in a country-setting in tune with nature, would be the perfect place to stay.

Room Tip: You have a choice of a standard room with king-size bed, a suite with a jacuzzi and/or fireplace or...

Stayed at the Alpine Inn when I took the kids biking over weekend. The front desk staff was pleasant and competent in English. We were able to secure discount tickets where we biked all day (fantastic). the hotel is almost at the foot of the trails.

The rooms were nice .The site is beautiful. I asked for a quiet room and we were given a room at the end of a hallway and it was fine other than some noise from the room upstairs (fortunately not too late). Wireless Internet was ok the pool was very nice.

The high point for the kids was the outdoor hottubs. We sat in them at night. The kids loved it - probably the high point of their stay. There is also a hot tub in the room

OWNER'S are very nice. We have been there a couple times. Place is nice, fireplace is great. The beds, which are supposedly new, are terrible and as cheap as cheap comes! Their sofa, it has to be at least 45 years old.very uncomfortable and very very dirty. It was embarrassing when we looked at our photos and didn't want to show them to family and friends because it looked like we stayed in a dump. The TV has NO remote, and was almost as old as the sofa. The jacuzzi never works and is always cold! Lots of trouble with internet connection.
