We went in early June on a weekday. We booked a voucher online and saved a few dollars. One advantage for us was that this boat line admits children 5 and under for free. I phoned ahead to see if we needed to reserve, but they indicated that they weren't busy. They advised arriving 15 min ahead of departure, but people were getting on up to the last minute. We took the one hour cruise as we did not have much time. The boat was fine - it wasn't too fancy. There was a small snack bar - we got some hot drinks (unfortunately it was cold and rainy). I don't think they served anything substantial (on this boat). Both the bottom and top decks are covered. There are small areas fore and aft to stand outside and view the scenery. It's fun to see all the islands with cottages perched on them. There is a recording (English and French) with information about some of the islands. The one hour cruise is a good break option on a trips between Ottawa/Toronto/Montreal. Gananoque is just off the 401 about 20 min east of Kingston.

We went in the morning and it was awsome. They tell you a lot of things and it's crazy to be in the US and in Canada. We saw the shortest international bridge between the US and Canada. On every island is a house how small doesn't matter.
It's a very nice trip.

Really enjoyed this cruise of 2.5 hours. The boat was clean, comfortable and spacious and you can sit inside or out and move around the boat on the three decks as you wish to get the best views. The scenery is beautiful and the onboard commentary was clear and concise and very informative. As we sailed along they pointed out the Millionaires Row of the rich and famous, the stunning Boldt Castle and many more interesting sights. On board there are toilet facilities and a licensed snack bar for drinks and food. As seniors we paid $64 for two which we felt was good value, worth every penny. There are several staff on the boat, all friendly and happy to answer any questions. Would definitely recommend this company who sail from Gananoque, we were actually staying in Kingston where you can also cruise from but were recommended to take the cruise from Gananoque as it is much nearer to the scenic part.

This is a great value for a very entertaining and informative tour of the 1000 Islands. The tour gives you plenty of time to enjoy the views, as well as giving you some great information. From history to the story of Boldt Castle, to famous people's cottages (Irving Berlin, for example) to the original recipe for 1000 Island Dressing, this has it all. We did the 2.5 hour Lost Ships and 1000 Island Tour, and it was the perfect length. It doesn't take up your whole day, but you feel like you've seen what there is to see.
The website it very helpful and informative, and has lots of pictures.
